Apple TV Gets the iOS 5 Treatment With New Features and Services

Among many other software releases, Apple issued an update to the Apple TV 2 today.

While the release can be included in the iOS 5-related slew of updates, this latest version actually brings the Apple TV to iOS 4.4. The update includes AirPlay mirroring for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, Photo Stream support, iTunes Move Trailers, NHL GameCenter, and Wall Street Journal Live.

Apple Releases iTunes Movie Trailers App

Today Apple released the iTunes Movie Trailers app for the iPhone and iPad. The app lets users watch HD trailers from the iTunes store.

Apple’s new app actually does much more than just show you upcoming movie trailers. You can also find movie showtimes at local theaters, purchase tickets, see a calendar view of upcoming movie releases, and view favorites.

Steve Jobs’ death certificate has been officially released, according to Bloomberg. His exact time and cause of death is documented in the certificate.

Jobs suffered from a rare form of pancreatic cancer that publicly surfaced for the first time in 2004. In April of 2009, Jobs underwent a dangerous liver transplant after taking his first leave of medical absence earlier that year. He continued to battle cancer while intermittently serving at Apple until his formal resignation two months ago.

Apple was incredibly secretive about Jobs’ health condition throughout his years of treatment, officially calling his disease an “undisclosed medical condition.”

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures is working on a “hefty deal” to secure the rights to Walter Isaacson’s official Steve Jobs biography for a major feature film.

The movie will allegedly detail the story of how Jobs built Apple from the ground up in the heart of Silicon Valley. The biography that the movie will be based on features over 40 official interviews with Jobs, as well as hundreds of personal anecdotes from his friends and competitors.

Facebook Scam Has Already Claimed 21,000 Victims by Exploiting Steve Jobs’ Death

Scammers have already taken to Facebook to exploit the death of Steve Jobs. PandaLabs has “detected a malicious link” on Facebook that was making the rounds earlier and claiming victims.

The page was called “R.I.P. Steve Jobs” and a link on the page claimed that 50 free iPads were being given away “in memory of Steve Jobs.” This was obviously a scam, but it seems that over 21,000 Facebook users have already been infected by the malware.
