Steve Jobs has passed on, but his legacy remains something that cannot fade. His influence at Apple will continue to be felt in the years to come, thanks largely to the fact that he personally oversaw plans for the next four years of products before his death.
The Daily Mail reports:
“He has also been overseeing the development of the delayed iCloud project, which will allow Apple users to store their music, photos and other documents remotely and masterminding updated versions of the iPod, iPad, iPhone and MacBooks, ensuring at least four years’ worth of products are in the pipeline, according to Apple sources.”
Jobs was known for being heavily involved in every detail of Apple during his time as company CEO. He still remained involved in product decisions while on medical leave before his resignation. He even came back from medical leave to unveil the iPad 2 to the world last March.
Apple’s current executive team was reportedly handpicked by Jobs over the years. Current CEO Tim Cook worked closely with Jobs for 14 years before accepting the position of CEO after Jobs’ resignation in August of 2011.
According to reports, Jobs closely oversaw development of the next generation iPhone even while the 4S was already in the pipeline for its October release. Other future products, like the next generation iPad and Mac models, have almost certainly been influenced directly by Jobs himself. Large companies like Apple are typically working on and testing new products years before a public announcement is made.
As a profitable company, Apple will continue to do well in the years to come. Jobs was a visionary, and the leadership he hired to lead Apple into the future shares his passion and vision.
What cannot be replaced is Jobs himself. His notorious attention to detail, refusal to follow the status quo, secretive nature, and drive to create products that inspire will be missed greatly by Apple and Apple fans alike.

thats what apple shareholders would like consumers to believe. marketing talk at its finest.
Or you can be proven wrong in the near future. No one is irreplaceable. Jobs was fantastic, but his team is, as well.
I say Tim Cook got his “jobs” laid out for him for the next 10 years! All he has to do is get on stage and follow steve’s instructions.

Steve Jobs MIA?
Lol good one but I highly doubt it…..Jobs was a mastermind n I’m pretty sure that he left apple the step by step guide to make sure they keep doing what they do best n thats succeed….
Steve Jobs was a true asset to Apple but in my own life I am constantly reminded of the quote by President Charles de Gaulle “the cemetery is filled with indispensable people”. As hard as it is to accept, if they can replace the president every four years none of us have any hope of considering ourselves indispensable. Which as far as I am concerned, is a good thing; if there were indispensable people the world would have ended a long time ago.
I hope it’s true but the day I believe anything written in the Daily Mail is the day I switch to Windows and Android
Call my broker! Tell to short Apple (in 2016).
Im not sure if I believe that , I know steve had a hand in a lot of things but the real reason for saying that is so they can help keep the stock price up for the next four years. even though steve was smart they make it seem like he did everything himself. yes he approved it but other people designed it but when your the ceo I guess you get the credit if it works and you get trashed if it doesn’t. like any company, sports team , musical act everyone has a run and then they fade off and someone else takes over that’s just how it goes and that would happen whether or not steve jobs was here or not and I guess the first sign of that would be this new iphone 4s, steve was around for that, but just like in pure apple fashion they give you incremental updates to products and make it seem like no one else is doing it when in fact other company’s had it month’s or years before they did I think in the end that strategy may start to shift momentum in the direction of other companies. I love and own apple products but I don’t think even steve can stop another company form doing what they did a few years from now.
As much as I would like to believe in this it’s simply not true. Now for the next year I’m not afraid but after few years anything can happen. Tim Cook does not have this ‘thing’ that’s needed to sell/present new products and the next 3 years will be very important – integration of iOSX (maybe OS XI), destroying PCs and replacing them with tablets (very soon they should become common) and fighting new Windows 8.
But seriously if they make some design mistakes or controversial decisions with OS no one will convince us that it’s for the best. No Steve means no future, no more innovation (I hope that 2015 will prove me wrong).
I’m not worried about Tim Cook’s somewhat subdued presentation of the iPhone 4S. Remember that he was aware that his mentor and friend was dying even as he introduced the new product. I hold out great hope for the future of Apple. Beware the naysayers. Steve built the culture of Apple. He infused into his hand-picked chief executives a way of doing things, a belief that “good enough” just wasn’t good enough, and that insanely great had to be the rule not the exception. I actually expect Tim to become a much better showman and presenter than he currently is. He, like all the other Apple top dogs will continue to make Apple great long into the future. The difference between the top people at Apple and other technology companies is that they have the Apple mindset. They’re still out to change the world and empower individuals. They build amazing products and this is what keeps the company insanely profitable. I do not expect this to change significantly for at least 10 to 15 years. It will take a tremendous amount of erosion and infiltration by outsider “corporate executives” to bring down the house that Steve built, and it will be resisted mightily by the current executive structure.
This is like the rumor that someone had survived the WTC attacks by gliding to the ground on a piece of broken aircraft wing…it was just one of those bizarre mythologies based on hope.
Listen, Steve Jobs has passed, and it confounds me how people can simultaneously insist that he was a singular genius, but also somehow passed that genius on to the rest of the company in a manner which insures they will continue to execute the same level of innovation…there is absolutely no information to base than on but to see what happens.
But the idea that he had the information over the last 12 months to design relevant products for the next 4 years (especially considering the lackluster 4S announcement), just doesn’t even make sense.
Also, Jeff Bezos is the new king of mobile – like it or not, you are going to get 40% less sexy dog-and-pony powerpoints, and 66% less expensive products with 50% more friendly content policies.
well said
Bezos couldn’t tie Steve Jobs’ shoelaces. Amazon invents like Microsucks; mostly misses and promises to do better next time. Amazon, Google and Samsung needed Apple & Jobs to show them how it’s done. Bezos is a piss poor, 2nd rate copy of the greatest innovator of the 20th century.
The iPhone 4S announcement was not lackluster, doofus. Everyone on that stage knew that Jobs was dying and that the end was probably going to be this week. They were solemn and respectfully restrained, considering the tragic circumstances that were unfolding behind the scenes. I give them great props for the courage to even continue with the unveiling. I’m sure it was the hardest event anyone of them has ever had to attend, much less present. Steve would have been proud.
Ha! Heaven forbid.
Hmmm, normally I would agree, but I believe we have witnessed the birth and death of an innovator, artist and technical genius that the world has not seen in more than 100 years. Google’s Eric Schmidt compared Steve Jobs to Michelangelo. Schmidt would know.
Thanks for the insight on that subject, Alex. I often wondered how far out Apple had products in development. I have a lot of hope in the Apple University that Steve was working on before he died. That’s going to be the holy grail of any technical graduate who aspires to be a mover and shaker in Silicon Valley.
Great Rick ,I like your attitude.Jobs has done what no one could imagine, wait ….
jobs has died but his job’s-ness is not.I am sure he has arranged for ‘one more thing’,to leave the world speechless once again, even after his death, something no one one has imagined yet.
Love you Jobs.
Bless him, Steve was truely the man… But… There are good men to follow, now no longer hampered by working under or with Steve. I for one, am looking forward with great expectations to a post Steve Jobs, amazing period of innovations and new directions. Come on people, make Steve proud.

Do not believe the Daily Mail. They published the fake picture of a frail Steve Jobs upon his resignation and they published an image of Steve at NeXT and said this was Steve “with one of the first Apple computers”, what a load of crap.

Agree
Steve was talented; though vehemently disagree with the comparison between Jobs
and Michelangelo. Though, even if I
accepted that comparison… …were is Michelangelo at the present. If the world can see the likes of Galileo,
Newton and Einstein come and go….well….we will survive the passing of Steve
Jobs. In the not to distant future, we
will see other equally talented innovators emerge. This in no way is intended
to disparage Steve’s contribution but I am not a big fan of hero worship………
Though, I guess that is why they call this site the CultOfMacJ
Nobody should quote the Daily Mail, ever.
So you bought into that ” Two kinds of companies” malarkey. All altruistic Amazon…yeah, right !
