We have high hopes for PopCap’s long anticipated sequel to Plants vs Zombies, but it looks like gamers will have to wait a little while longer before the game hits the App Store.

PopCap announced today that Plants vs Zombies 2 has been delayed and will miss its targeted launch date of July 18th. The launch date will be pushed back to some date “later this summer” according to the game’s Twitter feed.

Plants vs. Zombies 2, originally slated for a July 18th release, will now be released later in the summer. Stay tuned for more details.

Google published a big update for it’s Google Earth app for iOS today. The new version includes an improved UI with a left hand panel that makes it easier to enable different layers of information.

Along with the refreshed UI, the Google Earth update adds Google Maps Street View to the service so you can explore the world in 3D flyover or at street level. Improved directions and search were also added to the list of new features.

Square has quickly risen to popularity thanks to its clever credit card payment system for iPhone and iPad that has been adopted by small businesses across the country. To compliment its payment system, Square  launched the Square Register last month, and today it just introduced its new eCommerce portal called Square Market.

Square Market is an online marketplace for businesses to list and sell their goods across the U.S. (think Etsy or eBay). Anyone can open a store for free with items photos and a profile of your business. You can even post items directly to Twitter to generate interest in your business.

The modern digital camera is a miracle. It can take photos in light so low that you can’t even focus the lens manually. It can record thousands of images onto a single SD card, or it can shoot RAW and let you make incredible adjustments back in the comfort of your own home.

This is a neat touch: the camera quick launch drawer in iOS 7 actually has its own gravity bounce effect, so that you can effectively bounce it against the bottom of the screen like a rubber ball. In a landmark victory for same-sex marriage, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the bill passed in 1996 that ruled same-sex marriages are unconstitutional. After voting 5-4 in the decision, the Supreme court justices threw out part of the law that denies federal benefits same-sex couples.

To celebrate the decision, Apple released the following statement to All Things D regarding the Supreme Court ruling:

“Apple strongly supports marriage equality and we consider it a civil rights issue. We applaud the Supreme Court for its decisions today.”

In a statement earlier this year, Apple had the following to say about DOMA:

“DOMA hurts legally married same-sex couples and prevents companies from treating all employees as equals. Apple strongly supports marriage equality and we hope the Supreme Court will declare the law unconstitutional.”

The Supreme Court also handed same-sex marriage advocates another victory by clearing the way for gay and lesbian couples in California to marry, by voting 5-4 to dismiss a Prop. 8 appeal over same-sex marriage on jurisdictional grounds.

JetBlue is the latest airline to ditch its flight manuals for iPads. The budget airline received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to give its pilots custom-equipped iPads to replace heavy paper manuals and serve real-time information to the cockpit during the flight.

Over 60 pilots have been involved during the trial phases of JetBlue’s iPad program, but JetBlue will give all 2,500 pilots a fourth-gen 16GB Wifi-only iPad. The company has been approved to use PC-based laptops in the cockpit for 10 years now, but the company says the iPad will offer new capabilities as JetBlue implements Ka-Band satellite Wifi.

Motorola Mobility, Google’s gadget making sub-company, has just unveiled a new logo that embraces flat design elements: the Motorola badge has been surrounded by a ring of colors, and there’s a new proclamation of Motorola being “A Google company” underneath everything.

Killian thinks it looks a bit like Motorola was aping Jony Ive’s iOS 7 redesign, but I have to say, between the busy-ness of the design, the atrocious font choice, and Motorola’s existing (terrible) logo, I think he’d do a spit-take looking at this. What do you think?

It’s been a stagnant year so far for new Apple product announcements, and Foxconn, Apple’s biggest manufacturing partner, is starting to feel the pitch: sales are down 12.6 this year, against a target of 15% growth. One of the features I’ve been most looking forward to in OS X Mavericks is the ability to send directions from my Mac to my iPhone, to be able to take my directions on the go, even when I’m searching on my Mac. I hate having to go to my iPhone (or iPad) and re-enter the starting and ending addresses again; I just did that on my Mac!

While you still can’t do that with Google directions, you can now send directions from OS X Mavericks Maps right to your iOS Maps. Here’s how.

Spanish mobile operator Telefonica has partnered with Microsoft in a bid to boost Windows Phone 8 adoption. The two companies plan to launch an “enhanced marketing effort” that will fight back against “the current duopoly” of Android and iOS.

An Apple retail store in Bellevue Square Mall, Seattle, is one of 14 stores that have been flooded following heavy rain, Fox News reports. Fortunately there were no injuries, but all stores have suffered minor flood damage when storm drains became unable to handle all of the water.

Apple’s share price has steadily been falling for some time now, and earlier this week it dipped below $400 a share for the second time this year. Meanwhile, Google’s has been on the rise. As a result, if you take away all the cash the two companies have sat in the bank and just look at their enterprise value, then Google is worth more than Apple for the first time ever.

The Blokket is just about the most stupid, wrong-headed case I have seen in a while. It certainly looks nice enough, and I’d probably use it based on its cute tool-bag styling alone. I asked Siri something yesterday, and s/he – as usual – misheard me. Whatever I actually asked, Siri thought I said “Election Tacos,” and as that didn’t really fit in with Siri’s abilities, he did a web search. Only instead of popping me into Safari, the results were shown right on the lock screen. And that’s not all.

Dropbox for iOS just got a great update. No, it still doesn’t have the photo Albums feature found on the web and Android, but it does add some neat new features. Let’s take a look:

During the WWDC 2013 keynote, Apple made sure to note on several occasions, that the new Mac Pro will support multiple 4k displays. As the current Thunderbolt display is due for an update, many have wondered whether Apple will update the Thunderbolt Display to 4k to go along with the new Mac Pro when it comes out in late 2013.

Shortages at third-party retailers can occasionally indicate whether Apple has a new product in the pipeline, so Glenn Künzler at MacTrast researched the current supply of Thunderbolt displays at third party retailers and found that supplies are beginning to dwindle. One retailer even confirmed that Apple is no longer allowing them to order the Thunderbolt displays.
