Leap Wireless owns Cricket, a small prepaid carrier in the U.S. that recently started selling the iPhone. In fact, Leap was the first pay-as-you-go carrier in the U.S. to start selling the iPhone at full price. Now other prepaid carriers like Virgin Mobile have also picked up Apple’s handset.

Today Amazon updated its Cloud Player iOS app with full support for the iPad. Amazon’s music streaming and storage service got its own iPhone app last summer, and now the app has been made universal with an interface that’s optimized for the iPad’s larger display.
With Cloud Player on the iPad, Amazon customers can stream music and download tracks to play offline. The app displays larger album artwork while music is playing, and it retains the same look and feel of the iPhone version.

Spotify has released a major update to its iPhone app that introduces a couple of nice user interface changes.
The app now features a sidebar that can be accessed by swiping from left to right, like Facebook’s iOS app. From the new sidebar menu you can quickly access search, new releases, radio, playlists, your inbox, friends list, and settings. Facebook has pushed out a pretty big update to its iOS app that brings a notable new feature: free voice calling for users in the U.S. and Canada. The same feature was brought to the Facebook Messenger app last month.
Other additions to the app include redesigned buttons for liking, commenting, and sharing posts in the News Feed.
A New York judge has ruled in favor of David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital and blocked an AAPL shareholder vote that would limit Apple’s ability to give preferred stock options to investors. The ruling comes after Greenlight held a meeting yesterday with shareholders to explain the ideas behind its “iPrefs” stock proposal.
Apple shareholders were scheduled to vote on limiting preferred stock next Wednesday, but a preliminary injunction has been granted that stops the vote from taking place.
Following the public release of iOS 6.1.2, Apple has seeded the 6.1.3 beta to registered developers. Apple seeded the first iOS 6.1.1 beta towards the beginning of this month, and the minor release of 6.1.2 has caused the jump to 6.1.3 “beta 2.”

Rumors say that Apple is making an iWatch with a curved glass display, and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office just granted a patent for such a device. The patent in question was filed by Apple back in August 2011, and it describes a “touch-sensitive” bracelet that wraps around the human wrist and locks into place.
Apple calls it a “wearable video device” with a flexible display that “conforms to an appendage of the end-user.” The watch would be used to communicate with another device, like an iPhone.

Square, the mobile payment startup that lets you pay for your coffee with an iPhone app, has announced a new product for small business owners. Since Square already specializes in helping merchants use the iPhone and iPad to process payments, the company is launching what it’s calling a “Business in a Box.” The package includes an iPad stand, cash drawer and optional receipt printer. It lets Apple’s tablet totally replace a traditional cash register.
Yesterday it was reported that malware had infiltrated the Macs of Apple’s employees. It was big news because this is the first attack to affect Apple internally on such a big scale. The source of the malware was traced back to a popular forum for iPhone developers called iPhoneDevSDK. A vulnerability in a Java plugin on the site allowed for hackers to hijack the plugin and use it to insert malware.
