Following a seemingly endless series of hacks that have afflicted cloud service providers like Evernote and Dropbox, Apple has just introduce two-step verification for your Apple ID, which makes you enter a code (sent to a single trusted device) every time you make changes to your account or make a new iTunes or App Store purchase from a new device.
This is actually my favorite tip ever, and it’s usually the one I share with any new iOS owners I come across.
When you’re tapping away on the keyboard on your iPhone, there are bound to be times when you miss the right key. It happens, right? So, the options are to tap the delete button, and deal with all the auto-correct stuff, or just do this one little thing and make it all better.

After a few days of speculation, Google’s Chairman, Eric Schmidt, finally commented on whether Google Now would be making its way to iOS. This morning, Schmidt said that Google Now has been submitted to the App Store and the only thing standing in its way is Apple. The only problem is Schmidt’s completely wrong.
Apple commented on the Google Now approval process this afternoon and said that they haven’t even received Google Now yet.

Spotify has updated its iOS app with the ability to view artist biographies and images. The new artist view will be displayed when you tap on an artist’s name for a currently playing track. There’s a cover image you can tap to view the full biography. This feature has been available on the desktop for some time.

But the company is testing an annoying new feature which could persuade users like me to turn their back on it altogether. It wants to send you a push notification on your iOS devices that bugs you to post a new status update if you haven’t done so in a while.
J.D. Power & Associates has released its latest semi-annual smartphone customer satisfaction survey, and Apple once again sits at the very top of the list.
Apple has won the industry survey 9 times in a row now, and J.D. Power notes that Apple continues to do “particularly well in physical design and ease of operation.”

Last week, Google accidentally posted a video to its YouTube channel which announced Google Now is coming to iOS. Canon, on the other hand, decided that — after stripping down the DSLR to make the mirrorless EOS M — it would take that stripped-down camera and, uh, strip it back up again.

Apple’s suppliers are to begin shipping components for the next-generation iPhone by the end of May, ready for the handset’s launch during the third-quarter of 2013, according to sources in the supply chain. When you use Evernote, you already have two backups of your notes. You have the copy which resides on your Mac, and you have the synchronized copy which resides on the Evernote cloud servers. So, aside from local, non-synched notes, you’ll always have access to them no matter what happens to your Mac.
If you want to be totally sure you’ll always have your notes, however, you might want to make a manual backup. Using Time Machine is an obvious way to do this, but maybe you just want to backup and restore your Evernote notebooks and notes right from the Evernote app itself.
