Apple TV+ launched this morning. Costing $4.99 per month (or free to anyone who buys a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac), the subscription service brings Apple’s eagerly anticipated original TV shows to anyone who wants to watch them.
But what exactly does the service feature so far? And what’s the timeline for the release of Apple’s other shows? Check out our rundown.
Apple is turning up the hype for the launch of Apple TV+ this morning with a new featurette for its big-budget series See.
The two-minute-long video shows never-before-seen clips of the show along with commentary from its creators and the cast. Early reviews for See were less than enthusiastic, but after seeing some of the behind the scenes shots, we’re cautiously optimistic that it could mature into something great.
Apple is apparently very confident of success for its Apple TV+ series For All Mankind. With a week still to go before Apple launches its streaming TV service, it is gearing up to shoot a second season of the big budget space race show.
Actor Joel Kinnaman revealed that he will be filming the second series simultaneously with the sequel to Suicide Squad. Shooting will commence in a couple of weeks.
Apple’s Amazing Stories TV series will contain the last acting performance by Oscar-nominated actor Robert Forster.
New details on the new series produced by Steven Spielberg were revealed this week including the plotline of the episode starring Forster which involves him getting superhero powers.
Apple this week premiered For All Mankind at the Regency Village theater in Westwood, California, ahead of its Apple TV+ debut.
The new space drama, from Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore, will be available on November 1. It imagines a world in which the global space race never ended.
Apple is so confident about its space-based drama For All Mankind that the show has reportedly been renewed for a second season even before the launch date.
This is one of the programs premiering with Apple TV+ next month, and many of the others debuting at the same time have supposedly also been picked up for additional seasons.
Apple finally gave fans a glimpse of one of the first movies that will debut on Apple TV+ when the service launches next month.
Narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor (that guy from 12 Years a Slave and Doctor Strange), The Elephant Queen follows a family of elephants on their year-long journey across Africa as they face threats from poachers and drought. The film earned positive reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival. Based on the first trailer, it looks like it’s stuffed with the type of positive vibes Apple is gunning for.

Swagger, the Apple TV+ series based on Kevin Durant’s experiences in youth basketball, finally found its lead actor. Winston Duke, most recognizable for his role as M’Baku in Marvel’s Black Panther movie, reportedly landed the top role in the show.
Swagger should start production later this month.
The final trailer of For All Mankind gives us our clearest look yet at the plot of the alternate-history space-race TV show.
Apple TV+ is set to debut on November 1 with For All Mankind as one of its premiere shows. Previous trailers gave us a glimpse of the bad-guy Russians landing on the moon first — and the feminist angle with female astronaut candidates. Those two plot lines converge in the new trailer, which touched down on YouTube this morning. The new spot reveals President Richard Nixon’s decision to one-up the Russians by putting a woman on the moon first.

Maybe Apple should tweak the title of For All Mankind, its space race sci-fi show. A new teaser for the upcoming Apple TV+ series reveals that the drama will inject a strong shot of female empowerment into its alternate-history storyline about Russians beating the United States to the moon.
The 15-second clip, released Friday, shows actress Sarah Jones in the role of Tracy Stevens. “Look at you, Tracy Stevens,” says an off-screen male character. “You’re going to be an astronaut candidate.”
“No,” Stevens says. “One day I’m going to be an astronaut.” Cue a shot of an all-female astronaut ensemble.
Downton Abbey fans may have a great new costume drama to jump ship to thanks to Apple TV+. A new trailer for Apple’s upcoming TV show Dickinson gives us our best glimpse yet of the new series, which stars Haile Steinfeld as iconic poet Emily Dickinson.
The fight for women’s rights lands front and center in the lengthy new trailer. It shows just how “eccentric” Dickinson’s peers consider her ideas at the time.

Apple isn’t quite ready to pump the brakes on its celebrity singing TV show, Carpool Karaoke
The iPhone-maker has reportedly renewed Carpool Karaoke for a third season. Production on season three is already underway and we already know at least one group of TV stars that will be joining the show.
Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing that put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on that big chunk of cheese in the sky. To celebrate, Apple has put out a new video that talks about the Apollo mission’s impact on the world while also offering some glimpses of its upcoming TV show about the space race.
For All Mankind‘s first trailer came out during the WWDC 2019 keynote and instantly shot up onto our must-watch list. This new video makes the hype even bigger.

The WWDC 2019 keynote came packed with exciting announcements. As in past years, I ended up with four pages of drawings in my notebook. I sketched out the biggest new features coming to tvOS 13, iOS 13, macOS Catalina and watchOS 6. And then there’s the new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR.
As seen in my first sketchnote, above, tvOS 13 adds multi-user support and support for Xbox One and PlayStation DualShock 4 game controllers for Apple Arcade. Meanwhile, watchOS 6 will bring an App Store directly to the Apple Watch, a new Noise app, and a new Cycle tracking app for women.

Apple’s WWDC 2019 keynote was so action-packed that we’re still trying to process all the amazing new software and hardware that was shown off on stage.

Apple promised support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game controllers when it releases a redesigned tvOS this fall.
CEO Tim Cook said Apple TV will be more “entertaining and personal” as he unveiled changes to the company’s video ecosystem Monday during the Worldwide Developers Conference.
At launch, tvOS 13 will also include full-screen previews of shows and individualized support for each person in the household to build their own lists of shows, movies and even Apple Music.
Five of Apple’s original TV shows have now finished filming, according to a new report. They have entered post-production ahead of the company’s March 25 event, but they’re not expected to be available until the fall.
Apple is said to be working on around six other shows that are still in production. The company is also developing lots more original content that is planned to debut in 2020.
