Apple TV+ revealed an overview of the upcoming season of its alternate-history sci-if drama For All Mankind on Thursday. The show will relaunch in February with a focus on a struggle between the U.S. and the Soviet Union over the moon.
Filming has continued on the second season of For All Mankind, produced by Sony Pictures TV for Apple TV+.
According to Deadline, the Apple Originals drama had two episodes left to film when production shut down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Shooting reportedly resumed Monday on the Sony lot in Culver City.
Tensions will ramp up between the United States and the Soviet Union in the second season of For All Mankind, a trailer for the Apple Original’s second season suggests.

There are only vague hints about how Apple’s streaming video service is doing a week after the debut, but Variety got unnamed sources to say that Apple TV+ is getting millions of viewers.
Timely space-race drama For All Mankind just might propel Apple TV+ into becoming must-see TV. The show kicks off in the late 1960s, a couple of weeks before Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin strap themselves into a giant metal tube full of fuel that’s aimed at the moon.
From there, the story takes a sharp turn away from history and examines what the world would look like if the USSR planted its flag on the moon first. Space is obviously a huge part of For All Mankind, but the way creator Ronald D. Moore uses it as a vehicle to tackle topics like family, patriotism and feminism is what makes the show worth watching.
