Spotify is one of the best music services available now and practically negates the need to ever buy music from iTunes. Being able to stream almost any song to your iPhone whenever you want is a dream for most people; the only problem is you have to pay a monthly fee for the app to work.
A new report claims that Spotify is trying to change all that by renegotiating deals with record companies so that you can get Spotify on your iPhone for free.
It’s been over 16 months since Steve Jobs passed away, leaving Apple without its inspirational leader. Even though the company has released a number of new products and reported record-breaking sales, some of Steve’s closest friends at the company still miss him.

We’ve seen a lot of concept renderings of iWatches over the past two years, and while many of them have been a bit crazy, some are pretty neat and feasible. We don’t really know much about the iWatch other than it will have a curved glass display and be worn on the wrist, but if you combine a few aspects from each of these concepts, you might get a ballpark idea of what the iWatch will look like.
Following up on the news that Apple experienced a recent attack by hackers who infected some Macs with malicious software, Apple says they know how they did it.
In a statement released to All Things D, Apple says that the hackers accessed a number of Mac systems through a vulnerability in the Java plug-in for browsers.

According to a report from Reuters, Apple says it was attacked by a group of hackers who infected a small number of its Mac computers.
The admission from Apple comes just a few days after Facebook admitted that they were hacked by an unidentified hacker group that has been traced back to China. The group has staged sophisticated attacks by infiltrating Apple employee’s laptops, but Apple claims no user information was compromised.
I’ve never given much thought to Apple’s FaceTime icon, but it really doesn’t make any sense. Like seriously, what is the trapezoid on the right? It can’t be the lens because there’s a lens in the box. Is that the back facing camera and the triangle trapezoid is the front camera?
It’s supposed to be an old video camera glyph with the lens superimposed, but it’s so redundant that it still doesn’t make any sense for FaceTiming purposes.

Yesterday it was discovered that a bug in iOS 6.1 allows users to bypass the iPhone lockscreen without entering in the proper PIN. We’ve seen bugs like this in the past, and Apple has always been quick to shut them down.

It’s been a crazy day of rumors. Busy day… but all of that info came from one guy, Peter Misek. And that guy is basically the Digitimes of analysts when it comes to correctly predicting Apple’s next move.
As an analyst for Jefferies, Mr. Misek has a long and comical history of making some crazy claims about Apple’s future plans. Who can blame him? It’s his job to predict the future of Apple so investors can make decisions. The problem is a huge amount of his predictions were wrong, especially when it comes to the Apple HDTV, where Misek has (so far) been almost universally off-point.
Here’s a run-down of some of Misek’s “greatest” predictions.

Above all, Cook said that he’s proud of his employees, but then he gushed for a few minutes on all the great things Apple’s doing, like taking a stand for workers in China.

Of course Timmy wouldn’t just spill the details on Apple’s future plans, but he didn’t say Apple wouldn’t make a 5-inch iPhone either.
“The only thing Apple will not do is make a crappy product,” Cook explained. Maybe he hasn’t heard of Apple Maps and Siri, but we digress. Cook explained that the only thing that matters to Apple is the customer experience, regardless of how big the screen is.
During today’s Goldman Sach’s Technology and Internet Conference, Tim Cook was asked whether there’s something in Apple’s culture or business model that turns it against large acquisitions.
Some analysts speculated that Apple might be interested in buying Dell or Nokia, but Apple never decided to buy either company and has instead focused on buying smaller companies. Tim Cook says that Apple isn’t against buying big companies, but none of them have passed Apple’s tests.
