For several weeks, rumors surrounding Apple’s iPhone announcement this fall have mentioned two devices: the iPhone 5, and the iPhone 4S. While we’re all expecting the iPhone 5 to look different, boast a thinner form factor, and have updated components; the iPhone 4S is expected to look just like the iPhone 4, but could be a cheaper ‘budget’ device.

The latest components sporting that famous ‘N94’ moniker seem to strengthen those claims of a budget iPhone 4.

If you’ve got a massive music library, better think twice about syncing it with iTunes Match: the maximum size of an iTunes library in the iTunes Match beta is 25,000 songs. Assuming a library in which song is an average of 4 minutes long and compressed in CD quality 320kbps, that basically means the upper limit on a library is a size of 250 gigabytes. That’s pretty generous for a $24.99 a year service.

Apple has temporarily closed down the iTunes Match beta to developers trying to access it for the first time after Apple launched their match-and-stream music service yesterday afternoon.

We’ve seen Mac sales soar amid a flat PC market. Now its the iPad’s turn. Apple is expected to see back-to-back quarterly growth of tablet sales in September and December nearing 20 percent as rivals are rejected by consumers and clothes-lined by the courts.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard would allow you to assign applications to a particular space using a control panel in System Preferences. This is no longer the case with Mac OS X Lion which offers a completely different option for assigning applications to spaces.

Apple stores are expected to reopen today, August 29, after being shuttered complete with designer sandbags over the weekend, but Apple’s website advises people to call ahead for opening hours.

The full-screen feature supported by some applications running on Mac OS X Lion is a welcome addition to OS X. Especially since it allows you to focus on what you are doing inside of that particular application without any distractions. However, sometimes it doesn’t work very well when you are using Safari and its Reader option.

The primary reason for this might be the width of the display you are using. Luckily you can adjust the width of the page view in Safari while it is running full-screen.
