Canadian rap star and Apple fanboy Drake gives us a glimpse at his comical side in the company’s latest Apple Music ad by singing along to Taylor Swift while getting beaten by the bench press.
The ad is part of Apple Music’s ongoing “distractingly good” campaign, which has previously featured Swift herself.
Drake has close ties to Apple Music. He introduced the service on stage at WWDC last June wearing a retro Apple jacket, then gave Apple exclusivity over his latest album, Views, for a limited time. It then went on to become the first album to be streamed 1 billion times.
[contextly_auto_sidebar] In the latest Apple Music commercial, Drake waits until he’s alone in the gym before playing Swift’s “Bad Blood” on his iPhone. After dancing along in the mirror, he heads over the bench press where he underestimates just how much weight is on the bar.
Back in April, Swift sang along to “Jumpman” by Drake and Future before falling off a treadmill in another Apple Music ad. It’s unclear if any stars were hurt during the making of these commercials.
As of September this year, Apple Music had 17 million subscribers in over 100 countries. Its biggest competitor, Spotify, currently boasts over 40 million, but thanks to exclusive tracks and albums from big artists, and a generous 3-month trial, Apple Music is catching up slowly.

That’s one lame ad… seriously, what’s happening to you Apple ?
