iPad Pro is about to become an even better PC replacement. Photo: Apple
Apple is planning to make some huge improvements to the software on the iPad, but owners will have to wait until next year to try it out.
One of the biggest new features could involve the Apple Pencil, according to a new report that claims Apple’s big update will bring a powerful annotation feature to the device aimed at professional users.
Does Surface Pro 4 have more to offer than MacBook? Photo: Microsoft
The iPad Pro has taken a ton of fire recently from Microsoft, but the company’s latest ad shifts targets to attack the MacBook.
The company busts out the old-school disses in the ad, which calls the MacBook “square” during an annoying song that brags about the Surface Pro 4’s detachable keyboard, pen and touchscreen. And it runs Windows!
Microsoft wants you to know the iPad can't replace your PC. Photo: Microsoft
Apple desperately wants the iPad to replace your computer, but it can’t carry out everyday computer tasks as well as some other tablets can. Microsoft highlights that by mocking the iPad Pro’s computer dream in its new Surface Pro 4 ad.

Apple will ship three new iPads next year, according to well-connected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo — including a low-cost 9.7-inch iPad, upgraded 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro variant as well.
But the really big changes, he claims, are planned for the year after…

Buying a gigantic new iPad Pro just got a bit more affordable because Apple has finally made refurbished units of the 12.9-inch model available online.

What’s a computer?
That’s the latest brain buster Apple is asking fans in its latest iPad Pro ad that showcases how the giant tablet can replace a PC thanks to its keyboard, touchscreen and Apple Pencil. The short new ad covers iPad Pro’s multitasking capabilities, too, with shots of Slide Over and picture-in-picture that reimagine what you can do on an iPad.

Something's not quite right about this iPad Pro. Photo: AppleInsider
If you’re sick of looking at photos of the iPhone 7, perhaps this apparent iPad Pro 2 leak will leave you satiated. The images purportedly give us our first glimpse at Apple’s early prototypes ahead of this fall’s iPad refresh — but can we trust them?
The photos, which were sent into AppleInsider, don’t give too much away. Don’t expect them to spoil Apple’s big press event this September, then. One thing they do tell us is that Apple still hasn’t fixed its big bezel problem.
3D Touch gestures could be coming to your iPad Pro this fall with iOS 10. Developers testing Apple’s second beta have discovered a new deep press action for Apple Pencil, which lets you quickly clear all alerts in Notification Center.

Razer, the company famous for its awesome gaming notebooks and accessories, today launched a seriously cool keyboard case for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Not only does it look good, but it’s the world’s first mechanical keyboard for a mobile device. It’s also going to cost you.
Not everyone is getting Raise to Wake. Photo: Apple
One of the best new features of iOS 10 won’t be available for all devices that are compatible with Apple’s jam-packed mobile update.
Raise to Wake is such a simple and transformative new feature in iOS 10 that it feels like iPhones should have had it for years. Turning on the lock screen by just picking up your iPhone makes getting to notifications and apps quicker, but unless you have an iPad or iPhone released in the last year, you won’t get to enjoy it.
The new MacBook Pro vs the Old. Photo: Cult of Mac
The next-gen MacBook Pro is nearing completion, according to a new report that claims an Apple supplier has already shipped hinges that will be used in the upcoming 13-inch model.
In order to make the MacBook ultra-thin, Apple will reportedly use metal injection molding hinges from Taiwanese supplier Jarllytec, which shipped them to Apple in May.
