Medium, the publishing platform from Twitter co-founder Ev Williams, has finally released its official iPhone app. As you would expect from a site that prides itself on clean, minimalistic aesthetics, the app is quite nice.
It is also incredibly limited.
There are no editing or posting options for actually sharing content on Medium. The app is solely for reading, at least for now.
Apple has updated Garageband for Mac today with the ability to export songs as MP3s, a feature that was removed in the big redesign of Garageband last fall.

Today Starbucks released the big iPhone app redesign we previously told you about. The interface has been completely redone down to the icon, and the overall aesthetic improvement is drastic.
The main addition in today’s update is the ability to digitally tip baristas, which is currently available in about two-thirds of U.S. stores. Other new features include shake-to-pay, sharing options for rewards milestones, and integrated account history.

The whole ad consists of the same recycled arguments (you can’t do two things at once on an iPad, etc.), and there’s the usual flair of weirdness Samsung seems to be so fond of in its TV spots. My favorite exchange:

Microsoft will finally unveil Office for iPad at a media event on March 27th, according to The Verge and ZDNet. The event will mark Satya Nadella’s first public appearance as Microsoft’s new CEO.

While Asphaleia is probably a little overboard in terms of catering to the security paranoia some of us deal with, it’s a good example of improvements Apple could make to Touch ID in the future.

Today AgileBits released 1Password 4.2 for Mac, a big update to the popular password manager that brings over 30 new features and improvements. The bulk of the additions are actually for 1Password mini, the app’s browser extension for Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

Apple has chopped its iPhone return policy from 30 to 14 days, according to leaked document uncovered by 9to5Mac. The updated policy officially goes into effect on March 13th, but Apple’s website is already showing the change.
The change sounds like an effort to clear up return policy confusion.
In the past, customers could bring an iPhone back to Apple within 30 days of purchase, but the carrier would still charge an early termination fee if the iPhone was returned after 14 days. iPhone carrier partners have always offered a 14-day return window, and all of Apple’s other products have a 14-day policy as well.

Apple has been trying to get the approval it needs to build its new flagship store in San Francisco for a long time. The company submitted its proposal to the city in March of last year, and today it has been given the final seal of approval.
The new store will be located on the corner of Stockton and Post in Union Square, San Francisco’s luxury shopping district.
The consensus within the rumor mill seems to be that Apple will release not one, but two larger iPhones later this year. According to a new report from Japanese site Macotakara, the new designs will borrow heavily from the existing iPhone 5c and iPod nano.
The current Office for Mac hasn’t received a truly significant update since it came out in 2011. Now Microsoft is planning to finally release a new version of the software this year.
The creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, has practically gone off the grid since he suddenly pulled his viral hit from the App Store last month. The 28-year-old Vietnamese developer said his game had become “too addictive,” and Flappy Bird was no more.
At the height of Flappy Bird’s popularity, the game was making Nguyen $50,000 per day in ads. Now about a third of all games submitted to the App Store are Flappy Bird knockoffs.
In his first interview since pulling Flappy Bird, Nguyen told Rolling Stone that he is considering bringing it back.
