Servant just became the first horror series on Apple TV+. The show is getting good reviews, and is even trending on Rotten Tomatoes.
When India launches an incentive program to lure production companies to make movies in the country, Apple apparently wants in. According to a new report, upcoming Apple TV+ series Shantaram might become “one of the first major foreign productions to tap into the country’s impending film incentives scheme.”
After binging on Thanksgiving dinner you can binge on Servant, a new horror series debuting on Apple TV+ tomorrow. It’s creepy and compelling enough to pull in generally positive reviews, and for Apple to greenlight the second season.
Apple TV+ finally filled the last major role for Lisey’s Story, its upcoming show written by horror legend Stephen King. Dane DeHaan reportedly landed a leading role opposite Julianne Moore in the limited series. King wrote the psychological horror novel upon which the series is based — and is writing the script for the Apple TV+ show as well.
Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul and other stars of Truth Be Told appear in a new featurette that offers glimpses into the crime drama, which debuts next week on Apple TV+.
Watch it now:
Apple has released new episodes of its three flagship Apple Originals TV+ shows. At midnight Eastern time, Apple TV+ updated with new episodes of See, The Morning Show and For All Mankind.
Here’s Apple’s preview for all three new episodes.
The Banker, the first Apple TV+ original movie, will miss its world debut this week. Apple pulled the film after allegations of sexual abuse emerged involving Bernard Garrett Jr., the son of one of the men portrayed in the film and a co-producer of the project.
In the wake of recently surfaced accusations lodged by his half-sisters, Cynthia and Sheila Garrett, Garrett Jr.’s name has been scrubbed from the movie’s publicity materials. And the movie, originally scheduled to premier Thursday night at AFI Fest in Los Angeles, has been nixed. Now it’s not clear when it will be released.
One of Apple’s biggest publishing partners for Apple News+ is still waiting to be impressed by the fledgling subscription service.
Speaking at Recode’s Code Media conference this week, Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch said the “jury is out” on the service. His less-than-enthusiastic endorsement of Apple News+ comes a week after a report claimed Apple is struggling to significantly increase the number of paid subscribers for Apple News+.
M. Night Shyamalan’s Apple Original series Servant will debut with three episodes on November 28. As with other Apple TV+ shows such as The Morning Show, Apple will then roll out new episodes every Friday.
That answers one question I’d had about Apple TV’s future launch plans.
There’s a big difference in the user and critic reviews of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show — and the show’s producers think Apple haters are to blame.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the audience score currently stands at 95%. The critic score, meanwhile, languishes at 63%. Early reviews were particularly harsh, labelling the show as a “painful bellyflop.”
With the fifth episode of The Morning Show landing on Apple TV+ this morning, attention is already turning to season number two.
Morning Show showrunner Kerry Ehrin revealed how the U.S. political landscape could impact some of the storytelling next season. While Trump and current political issues won’t be brought up, Ehrin says some political themes could be added to plot.
Academy Award winner Gary Oldman is the latest big-name actor to sign up for an Apple TV+ original series.
Oldman will star in an adaptation of Mick Herron spy novel Slow Horses. The book is the first in the Slough House series, which currently contains six novels and two novellas.
The money Apple earns from advertising could rise to a whopping $11 billion a year by 2025, one analyst says.
Cupertino currently rakes in around $2 billion a year from ad revenue. The recent launch of Apple TV+ provides an opportunity for that to skyrocket over the next six years.
But will Apple really take advantage of it?
It’s Friday, which means that the weekend is almost here, and — more important — new episodes of the top Apple TV+ shows are up.
As expected, Apple debuted episodes of See, The Morning Show and For All Mankind at midnight Eastern time. Here’s what you can expect in this week’s episodes.
Apple News+ has been struggling to ramp up its subscriber numbers since launching in March, according to a new report that claims growth has been stuck in neutral for months.
News came out this morning that Apple is considering bundling services like Apple Music, Apple News+ and Apple TV+ together for a monthly fee. At this point, the company might need to do that to get more people onto the Apple News+ platform in order to make it worthwhile for publishers.
The latest trailer for Servant, M. Night Shyamalan’s eagerly anticipated Apple TV+ show, may just be the creepiest yet.
With music swelling, it shows a bespectacled man putting together Jericho, the “fake baby” doll that plays a big role in the series. Prepare to be unnerved!
Disney+ is off to a smashing start in its quest to dominate the streaming wars.
After launching on November 12, the Mickey Mouse company revealed this morning that it has already surpassed 10 million sign-ups. That makes the “millions” Apple TV+ pulled in during its first week look pretty weak.
Richard Plepler, who led HBO for almost three decades, is reportedly teaming up with Apple. He’s not joining the iPhone maker, but his production company will create content for Apple TV+.
If a deal goes through, the man who greenlit Game of Thrones would be developing shows for Apple.
Grownup shows drew most of the attention during the launch of Apple TV+, but children’s programming debuted as well, including Ghostwriter. Not to be overlooked, an extended trailer out today puts attention on this educational thriller.
