Hours after the initial version was released, the Chronic Dev Team has updated its Absinthe jailbreak tool with a way to handle the intense amount of strain that the Greenp0is0n servers have been receiving. The untethered iOS 5 jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 was released earlier today, and many have been unable to successfully install Cydia due to high traffic.

Hacker extraordinaire pod2g has updated his personal blog with info about Absinthe 0.1.2-2:

Chronic Dev Team has released a new build that’ll point the web clip to greenpois0n.com instead of the absinthe dedicated page.

This will handle better the workload.

Potential jailbreakers can download the new build of Absinthe from this direct link and try to jailbreak the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The tool is still available for the Mac only. We’ll let you know when a Windows version is released.

If you’re having trouble installing Cydia with Absinthe, make sure you try this VPN trick. Otherwise, re-run Absinthe on your iOS devices until it works. The traffic should let up on the Chronic Dev Team’s servers eventually.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out our tutorials for jailbreaking the iPhone 4S and jailbreaking the iPad 2 with Absinthe.
