One of the most popular, critically acclaimed and flat-out weird shows on Apple TV+ — the darkly comedic workplace thriller Severance — has resumed production on season two after pausing for the recent writers strike.

Apple posted on X (formerly Twitter) about it Monday. Take a look below.

Apple TV+ hit series Severance season 2 resumes production after strike

Apple posted a teaser image on X. The black-and-white shot shows a main character who has undergone the Severance brain surgery to separate work and home consciousnesses, Mark S. (played by Adam Scott), running down what appears to be a hallway in the offices of malevolent corporation Lumon Industries.

Apple wrote the following in the post’s alt text:

A black and white action shot of Mark S. (Adam Scott) running down a long white hallway. On the right side of the picture is a large camera recording the scene, confirming Severance Season 2 is in production.

Fans of the show can take heart that once Ben Stiller and company finish shooting and editing the whole season and schedule its release, we’ll be able to watch it again. So … don’t hold your breath. Everyone at Cult of Mac seems to love the show — is there anything else like it? — so we’re looking forward to its return.

Severance season two  first entered production after Apple TV+ renewed the show in April 2023. But when the Writers Guild of America went on strike in May, it halted, just as all other shows and films in production did.
