Adam Scott stars in "Severance." While you wait (and wait) for season 2, treat yourself to 8 hours of the show's theme music.

Fans who miss the psychological dark dramedy Severance on Apple TV+ can now drone out to a full day of the show’s ghostly piano-based theme song with the “8 Hour Work Day Innie Mix,” which Apple released Tuesday on YouTube.

Get it, innies? You can play the eerie mix for your whole 8-hour workday. It’s like having the show’s credits roll all day in your head as you start to question your choices in life.

As the writers’ and actors’ strikes drag on and the prospect of a new season of Severance seems distant, Apple’s new “8 Hour Work Day Innie Mix” really brings the show back. You can play it below.

From the opening piano notes, you’re right back in the halls of Lumon Industries, wishing you were an “outie” instead of an “innie” chained to your desk — and whatever passes for a Lumon macrodata-refinement console in your life.

Theodore Shapiro, who composed the show’s theme music, told GoldDerby that “a few notes on the piano” can be “scarier than a 90-piece orchestra.” He also explained that he got the gig from director and executive producer Ben Stiller after first hearing about the show at a Hollywood party he attended with his friend Adam Scott, who stars in the series.

Even before the strikes put a stop to production of scripted entertainment, Severance had its problems, supposedly stemming from rancor between the show’s two showrunners. But the show won Emmys for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Main Title Design, in additions to Writers Guild and Hollywood critics‘ awards.

Unfamiliar with the show and its music? Apple TV+ gives a little primer:

From Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson, Severance centers around Mark Scout (Adam Scott), a leader of a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives.

This experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Severance features Adam Scott, who stars alongside Academy-Award winner Patricia Arquette, Emmy-winner John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Academy Award winner Christopher Walken.
