Cool 8BitDo game controllers now support Apple devices

The selection of game controllers that can be used with Apple devices just grew, as a software update made multiple 8BitDo products compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

The accessory maker offers wired and wireless controllers that mimic Xbox and Playstation ones. And there’s the 8BitDo Lite SE, too.

Apple’s operating systems support many types of game controllers right out of the box. iOS, macOS, iPadOS and tvOS (Apple TV) can connect to a range of controllers with no additional software needed.

These can be used to play sophisticated games, including most of what’s offered through Apple Arcade. And there are cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud and Amazon Luna that let players enjoy console-quality titles on Apple devices.

8BitDo announced Monday via Twitter that six of its controllers now be used with almost every type of Apple computer.
