Microsoft this week rolled out a big Xbox Cloud Gaming update that promises “major performance improvements” on iPhone and iPad. They should allow for smoother and more responsive gameplay, the company said.
The changes have already been well-received by Cloud Gaming users, with Microsoft seeing a “significant increase” in positive feedback from players.
Xbox Cloud Gaming now even better
Xbox Cloud Gaming was already one of the best game streaming services — mostly thanks to the absolute bargain that is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For just $14.99 a month, it offers access to more than 100 top-quality games.
That includes Microsoft’s latest hits — like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 and Microsoft Flight Simulator — as well as a bunch of games from EA Play. It also includes the ability to stream all those titles to almost any device.
And if you play on iPhone and iPad, it’s now even better.
Microsoft rolls out performance improvements
“You asked for a better iOS experience, and as a result, we have brought major performance improvements to all supported iPhone and iPad devices,” Microsoft confirmed on Monday. “With these updates, you should have a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience.”
Since making the changes, Microsoft says it has seen “a significant increase in positive player feedback” and higher engagement, with players enjoying 35% longer play times on average.
To enjoy the improvements for yourself, simply fire up Xbox Cloud Gaming in Safari and sign in with your Microsoft account. You’ll want to add Cloud Gaming to your Home screen (by tapping the Share button then selecting Add to Home Screen) for the best experience.
Provide your feedback
Microsoft is inviting players to submit their feedback, which will help ensure the right enhancements are made in the future. You can do that by tapping the three dots in the top-left corner of the screen within a game, then choosing Feedback.
