The Apple Watch is gradually rolling out to more and more outlets — with British department store John Lewis and electronics retailer Currys saying that they will start selling the wearable devices from 18 September.

For those in the U.S., John Lewis is roughly the equivalent of Nordstroms or Bloomingdales, probably best known for its memorable Christmas ads. Currys, meanwhile, is a general electronics gadget store with 295 superstores and 73 high street stores around the U.K. The Apple Watch will go on sale this Friday, available both in-store and via the companies’ websites.

It’s currently not known which models will be stocked, although John Lewis has said it will offer a “curated selection.” Initially the Apple Watch will be available in 37 of John Lewis’ 44 stores, with another four confirmed to start selling them in time for Christmas.

“We believe Apple Watch will be one of the most sought after gifts this Christmas,” said Will Jones, head of buying communication technology at John Lewis.

The arrival of the Apple Watch comes in time for the launch of watchOS 2, which lands on 16 September. Previously Apple Watches were available in the U.K. only at the Selfridge’s department store and Apple’s own retail stores.

In the U.S., Best Buy recently began stocking the devices, with CEO Hubert Joly describing demand as “so strong.” That endorsement certainly bodes well for all involved!
