Apple has big plans for the iPhone 8, claims KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
How big? According to Kuo, Apple will be scaling up iPhone production 120-150 million units in the second half of 2017. If true, this would would be well above the 110-120 million units Apple ordered of its bestselling iPhone 6 generation handsets.
Kuo claims this “unprecedented” demand will be centered around the myriad big improvements Apple has planned for its next-gen iPhone series.
According to various reports, these upgrades will include OLED displays with Samsung Galaxy S7 edge-style curved glass displays, and a redesigned all-glass housing, which could help bring wireless charging to the iPhone. Other rumors have suggested the 2017-era iPhone may even benefit from a 3D camera sensor.
A report from earlier this week claimed that Apple is testing upwards of 10 prototypes for its next iPhone, which marks the tenth anniversary of its breakthrough smartphone.
If Kuo is correct, 2017 could turn out to be an absolutely massive year for Apple. With the iPhone 7, which represents only an incremental improvement over last year’s iPhone 6s, still topping lists of the most-wanted tech products out there, a totally reconfigured iPhone could be massive for Apple.

To be honest it will be the year where a lot of iPhone 5, 5s and 6 owners will upgrade simply because of their devices age.
I myself skipped 7 and will probably skip 7s if released and only upgrade when 8 comes out because my 6s is still flying and i see no reason to upgrade after not even two years.
iPhone 8 will be released in September, 2017.
Blockbuster for me would mean: wireless charging, non-bevel screen (with touch button under the glass/screen), flat camera with optical stabilization and optical zoom on non-plus, scratch-less glass
