Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro color lineup may have just been revealed, thanks to images of a fresh batch of dummy units shared by a noted Apple leaker.
The good news: there’s a beautiful new dark cherry option. Now the bad: the popular cosmic orange iPhone is apparently going away.
iPhone 18 Pro colors may include dark cherry
While many iPhone buyers focus on the cameras, battery life, etc., color remains important for plenty of people. Because most of us keep our smartphone with us throughout the day, it’s seen as a personal accessory that reflects our style.
Hence the interest in the colors for the next iPhone models. And we may already know what they are.
Images posted early on Friday by Sonny Dickson on a range of social media sites appear to show non-functional iPhone 18 Pro models in four different finishes, offering what could be the clearest look yet at the colors Apple is preparing for its 2026 flagship smartphones.
The leaked models appear in dark gray, silver, light blue and a striking deep red finish that many observers are calling “dark cherry.” The dark red color has been the subject of rumors for months and is expected to serve as the signature look for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Supply-chain reports have described the shade as a wine-inspired red rather than the brighter reds Apple has used on some previous devices.

Dickson’s images agree with leaks from April that gave a first glimpse at the range of colors for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
No more cosmic orange iPhone
If the leaks are accurate, the new dark cherry option is set to replace the cosmic orange finish introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro series. If true, anyone who really wants a cosmic orange iPhone will have to choose the 2025 model.
For now, the dark cherry finish is attracting the most attention, giving Apple fans a possible early look at what could become the standout color of the iPhone 18 Pro generation.
More about the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
Dummy units like the ones in Dickson’s images are typically created for accessory makers and case manufacturers ahead of a product’s launch and have often proven to be accurate indicators of Apple’s final hardware designs.
The new images of iPhone 18 Pro dummy units do not reveal any additional technical specifications, but they appear consistent with earlier leaks. These all point to the upcoming 2026 models using a design similar to the 2025 models. Rumors suggest Apple will make only minor exterior changes, including a smaller Dynamic Island and possible refinements to the camera system.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September. As with all pre-release leaks, the final colors could still change before mass production begins. However, the appearance of color-matched dummy units this close to launch typically indicates that Apple’s design decisions are probably finalized.
