Apple has sent out an email blast to iCloud customers promoting its peer-to-peer money transferring service Apple Pay Cash.
Apple’s email advertising comes days after Tim Cook admitted to shareholders that mobile payments have taken off slower than he had predicted.
Apple Pay Cash launched in December last year. Apple’s email promotion touts the service as being safe to use, easy, and fast for sending and receiving money from other Apple device owners. It even paints a few scenarios to explain how it might be used.
“Now you can use Apple Pay to pay and get paid right in Messages, or by asking Siri,” Apple writes. “Split a bill. Pay a babysitter. Send cash to your son in college. Just make sure you and your friends are using the latest version of iOS and you’re ready to go.”
The message also pushes Apple customers to upgrade to the latest iOS version, iOS 11.2, which lets users access Apple Pay Cash in Messages.
How to use Apple Pay Cash
Apple previously promoted Apple Pay Cash through the launch of a “how to” video which showed off the feature, and how users should, well, use it.
