Apple pushed out a big batch of software updates this morning for iOS, tvOS, watchOS and macOS, bringing a host of bug fixes and performance improvements to all of its major platforms.

iOS 11.2.5 is the biggest of today’s software updates. The update for iPhones and iPads adds a couple new features, including support for Apple’s HomePod smart speaker, which opens for preorders this Friday.

Hardly any outward-facing changes were made during the testing phase for iOS 11.2.5. However, the update does add a new Siri feature. You can now have Siri read you the news by saying, “Hey Siri, play the news.” Specific questions can be asked about certain news categories like sports, business and music.

The new version of iOS is available as an over-the-air update. To download iOS 11.2.5 to your iPhone or iPad, go to the Settings > General > Software Update.

Updates for Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac

Apple also released watchOS 4.2.2, tvOS 11.2.5 and macOS 10.13.3 today. Those updates mostly focus on minor, under-the-hood fixes and security changes. macOS 10.13.3 comes with a fix for iMessage as well as additional fixes for the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities.
