Apple TV celebrated a successful night at the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, taking home three awards Sunday night for its hit Hollywood-spoof comedy The Studio and its sci-fi phenom Pluribus. But some other hit shows came up short in the ceremony.

Apple TV wins 3 Golden Globes for The Studio and Pluribus

The two TV series’ Golden Globes wins for Apple TV — both shows are on Cult of Mac‘s best of 2025 list — mark another milestone for Apple’s streaming service as it continues to build its reputation for quality original programming.

However, Apple TV‘s 14 Golden Globes nominations covered multiple shows, including the popular psycho-drama Severance, espionage thriller Slow Horses and longtime flagship drama The Morning Show. But they lost in their categories. See the full list of nominees and winners.

The Studio dominates comedy categories

The Studio stars Seth Rogen as a newly appointed studio head navigating the chaotic world of Hollywood filmmaking. It won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Rogen also took home the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (his first personal Golden Globe win).

In his acceptance speech, Rogen referenced a particularly meta episode of the show that was set at an awards ceremony.

“This is so weird,” he said. “We just pretended to do this and now it’s happening. I thought the only way I’d get to hold [an award] is to create a whole show to give myself a fake one.”

The comedy premiered in spring 2025 and has already become one of the most decorated shows in recent memory. It previously made history by winning 13 Emmy Awards, the most ever for a freshman comedy series, including Outstanding Comedy and Outstanding Lead Actor for Rogen. The show has also earned Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor for Ike Barinholtz.

Rogen confirmed during his acceptance speech that production on season two will begin within a week. And it will likely attract even more celebrity cameos than the star-studded first season. It featured appearances from Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz, Zack Snyder, Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Aaron Sorkin and Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, among others.

Pluribus earns drama recognition

Apple TV’s other big winner of the night was Pluribus, a fascinating genre-bending drama created by Vince Gilligan. He also created Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Star Rhea Seehorn won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama, her first Golden Globe award. The recognition comes after years of her acclaimed performances on Better Call Saul going unrecognized by major awards bodies.

“Thank you to Vince Gilligan for writing me the role of a lifetime,” Seehorn said in her acceptance speech.

Apple has called Pluribus its most-watched show in Apple TV history. While writing for season two is underway, filming isn’t expected to begin until 2027 at the earliest, according to reports. The series follows the story of the most miserable person on Earth who must save the world from happiness.
