Apple TV+ delivered its strongest Emmy Awards performance to date Sunday night, taking home a personal record of 22 trophies across its original series lineup. The streaming service’s comedy hit The Studio dominated the evening at the 77th annual awards, becoming the most awarded show of the entire ceremony with 13 wins.

The Studio won so much that Seth Rogen said, after accepting the big Outstanding Comedy Series trophy, that he was “legitimately embarrassed” at how happy it made him. And from the stage, he thanked Apple CEO Tim Cook for Apple’s support.

Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s satirical Hollywood comedy The Studio swept the comedy categories, claiming the prestigious Outstanding Comedy Series award — Apple TV+’s third win in this category following two previous victories for Ted Lasso. Rogen’s show, which premiered on Apple TV+ in March 2025 and is greenlit for another season, had already secured nine Creative Arts Emmy wins earlier in September before adding four more on the main ceremony night.

“What an unforgettable, record-setting night for Seth, Evan and The Studio creative team,” said Zack Van Amburg, Apple’s head of worldwide video, in a press release. “It has meant the world to all of us at Apple to watch fans embrace this series, alongside the year’s most-celebrated drama, Severance, and the acclaimed Slow Horses. We are so appreciative of the Television Academy and applaud all of these artists who have shown the power of storytelling to bring people together.”

The Studio and Severance helped Apple TV+ earned a record-breaking 81 Emmy nominations this year.

The Studio wins by skewering Hollywood

Rogen himself took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award for his portrayal of Matt Remick, a stressed-out studio executive trying to balance corporate pressures with his artistic aspirations. The actor-producer duo of Rogen and Goldberg also earned recognition for both Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

The series features a cast that includes Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders and Kathryn Hahn. Notable guest appearances included Bryan Cranston, who won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Griffin Mill, not to mention other Hollywood luminaries.

While The Studio dominated comedy, Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed workplace psychological thriller Severance faced tougher competition in the drama categories. Despite entering the night with a record-setting 27 nominations, the series ultimately lost the Outstanding Drama Series award to HBO’s The Pitt.

However, Severance still managed to secure significant wins — the most of any drama, in fact. Britt Lower earned Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Helly Riggs, while Tramell Tillman took home Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of the enigmatic Seth Milchick. The series, which explores the mysterious Lumon Industries and its memory-severed employees, concluded Emmy season with eight total wins.

Apple TV+ ranks among top platforms

The strong showing placed Apple TV+ third overall among streaming platforms and networks, with 25 total wins — a remarkable achievement considering the service’s relatively smaller catalog compared to competitors. Netflix and HBO tied for first place with 30 wins each.

Apple executives were present to celebrate the victories, with Tim Cook and Senior Vice President Eddy Cue attending the ceremony. Cook received direct recognition from Rogen during his acceptance speech, thanking the Apple executive for his support of The Studio.

The success represents a significant milestone for Apple TV+. It continues to establish itself as a major player in premium television content despite having fewer eligible submissions than established networks and larger streaming services.
