Apple TV+ dominated the first night of the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards over the weekend, securing a record-breaking 15 wins led by breakout performances from comedy The Studio and psychological drama Severance. Overall, the streamer’s staggering 81 nominations covered 14 original titles.

The streaming service’s hit comedy The Studio made Emmy history by capturing nine awards off 23 nominations — the most Creative Arts Emmy wins ever recorded by a comedy series. The show‘s impressive haul included Outstanding Guest Actor for Bryan Cranston’s acclaimed portrayal of eccentric studio head Griffin Mill, marking a significant milestone for Apple’s original programming.

Meanwhile, Severance, Apple’s most-nominated series this year — with a third season and possibly two spinoff series on the way — claimed six Emmy wins for its highly anticipated second season. The psychological thriller earned Outstanding Guest Actress honors for Merritt Wever alongside technical awards recognizing the show’s distinctive visual and audio craftsmanship.

The Studio leads Apple’s comedy surge

As the most Emmy-nominated freshman comedy in television history, The Studio has emerged as this year’s biggest winner across all Emmy categories. The series secured wins across multiple technical categories that showcase the production’s exceptional quality:

Apple’s unprecedented Emmy success

This year’s performance represents a historic achievement for Apple TV+, which earned 81 total nominations across 14 original titles. The streaming service became the only network with multiple nominations in both Outstanding Comedy Series (The Studio and Shrinking) and Outstanding Drama Series (Severance and Slow Horses) categories. The Creative Arts Emmy wins add to Apple’s growing collection of 612 total wins and 2,799 nominations, building on previous successes like the multi-Emmy-winning Ted Lasso and Oscar Best Picture winner CODA.

Additional Emmy categories will be announced at the main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14, where Apple’s shows will compete for top series honors.
