Apple has started recruiting employees for its debut Apple Store in Taiwan, which is set to be located in the country’s capital city of Taipei.

While Apple has long since worked with Taiwanese manufacturers like TMSC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), this will be the first Apple retail outlet to open in Taiwan. We doubt it’ll be the last, though!

Until now, Taiwanese customers have only been able to buy Apple products inside Taiwan from third-party retailers like Studio A and Data Express. “You cannot stop a typhoon if it’s coming your way,” Andy Tu, president of the latter company, commented in response to Apple’s retail arrival in his country.

Apple has been on something of an Apple Store opening spree in China as of late, while Tim Cook has acknowledged that Apple increasingly designs new products with the Chinese audience in mind. It broke ground on its first Singapore Apple Store earlier this year.

The job openings for the new Taipei Apple Store include the regular “store leader,” “expert,” “manager” and “Genius” positions. There’s no word on exactly where the store is set to be located, or when it will open, but we will continue to report on this story as we hear more.
