The iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 are out today and — while a botched roll-out means not everyone will get the device they want — Tim Cook is keen to show that there are plenty of happy customers out there.

In a post on Twitter, Apple’s CEO writes that, “It’s time! #iPhone7 and #AppleWatchSeries2 are here!”

Well, for some of us at least!

Apple stores won’t have iPhone 7 Plus, any jet black models on Friday

iPhone 7 units are going to be rarer than hen’s teeth this Friday, according to Apple. The company’s retail stores have sold out of the hugely popular jet black iPhone 7 and all iPhone Plus models altogether.

In other words, unless you reserved ahead, simply queuing outside your local Apple store is no guarantee you will get the handset you want on launch day.

Apple should have made these black AirPods

The new AirPods Apple debuted last week are a classic throwback to the blinding white design that made iPods all the rage. But if the new earbuds are truly as futuristic as Tim Cook claims, they should have used the new jet black color from the iPhone 7.

Mockup artist Martin Hajek proves the AirPods would look absolutely amazing in all-black in his newest renders.

Seriously Apple, why didn’t you do this?

Apple has dropped the first of many iPhone 7 ads — called, with Jony Ive levels of minimalism, “iPhone 7.”

Rather than explicitly advertise specific features of the next-gen handset, Apple instead opts for a moody teaser commercial, playing off the black color scheme of its latest iPhone.

Check it out below.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to reassure Americans that the death of the headphone is a good thing for everyone, during an appearance on Good Morning America tomorrow.

Cook’s exclusive interview with Robin Roberts at a school in Harlem promises to be “wide-ranging,” covering everything from the iPhone 7 that will launch on Friday, as well as how Apple’s new AirPods fit in your ear.

“I have never personally had one fall out since I’ve been using it,” Tim said, revealing he runs on a treadmill with them. “They’re absolutely magical.”

Navigating the internet to find the best price for trading in your old iPhone is a pain. Lots of sites offer different prices — and all the prices seem to change by the minute. To take the pressure off, we did the work for you and compared our services on to leading iPhone buyback competitors Gazelle & iCracked.

Using an AT&T iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s in good condition, we compared our prices with the other guys. The verdict? We pay more.

iOS 10 review: It’s the little things that matter

Don’t miss out on iOS 13. Ditch your old iPhone now.
Photo: Ste Smith/Cult of Mac

Apple’s iOS 10 update for iPhones and iPads is the biggest software refresh the iPhone-maker has launched in years, adding a host of major and minor new features that completely change the iOS experience.

I’ve been using beta versions of iOS 10 on my iPhone 6s and iPad Pro since June. While some of the high-profile additions to Messages, Photos, Apple Music and Apple News aren’t totally mind-blowing, the smaller tweaks make all the difference. With iOS 10, using Apple’s devices is easier, faster and far more enjoyable than ever.

This is the big iOS update you’ve been waiting for, but not for all the reasons Apple thinks.

The long wait for iOS 10 is finally over.

Apple’s big update for iPhones and iPads is now available to the pubic after months of beta testing, bringing a host of new features that include a huge revamp of Messages, an Apple Music redesign, third-party app support with Siri and so much more.

T-Mobile CEO: iPhone 7 is shaping up to be a smash hit

John Legere thinks the iPhone 7 is kind of a big deal.

Update: Shares of Apple surged 1.1 percent in premarket trading on Tuesday following Legere’s comments.

According to charismatic T-Mobile CEO John Legere, reports about a supposed lack of interest in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are way overblown.

How overblown? In a live Periscope chat with customers, Legere said that T-Mobile’s iPhone 7 orders are shaping up to be four times those of the enormously popular iPhone 6.

The iPhone 7, he noted, “is a big, big deal.” Who are we to disagree?

The first iPhone 7 reviews are starting to trickle in. The verdict? The things you thought would annoy you probably will (like the disappearing headphone jack), but the big camera and battery upgrades are every bit as good as you’d hope.

Oh, and Apple’s new jet black color seems like it’s going to lead to its fair share of criticism — even if everyone is being very nice about it right now.

Apple’s interpretation of diversity includes Canadians

Apple is pledging to do more on the diversity front.

Apple’s iPhone 7 keynote only featured about eight minutes of stage time for women, but after being confronted about its lack of diversity, the company says its definition of the subject is a lot more flexible than normal apparently.

According to an Apple spokesman, both Canadians and British citizens should be counted as a sign of how diverse the iPhone maker is, even though most of the people of color and women that shared the stage don’t actually work for Apple.

Will you be buying iPhone 7?
Photo: Ste Smith/Cult of Mac

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are now on sale, and Apple will be hoping that they’ll be able to halt and even reverse falling demand for its smartphone lineup. The new models have better cameras, faster processors, stereo speakers, and water-resistant designs.

Friday Night Fights bugBut are those improvements enough? Without sharper displays and features like wireless charging — which are now commonplace on rival smartphones — does the iPhone 7 series deliver enough to fend off increased competition from its rivals?

Join us in this week’s Friday Night Fight as we battle it out over whether Apple’s latest devices can compete with the rest.

Apple’s iPhone 7 slogan in Hong Kong? ‘This is penis’

Tim Cook says that Apple designs its new products with the Chinese audience in mind. However, judging by one of the translated slogans for its new iPhone 7, that same localized care and attention doesn’t extend to every aspect of Apple’s business

The proof? One of the slogans for the iPhone 7 is apparently being read by some audiences as “This is penis.”

Hey, at least iPhone 7 Plus owners can feel good about themselves!

Apple’s secret strategy: Underpromise and overdeliver

By

iPhone 7 colors
Why the critics are wrong who think Apple's lost its touch.
Photo: Apple

Apple’s always been the company that promised us the world. Steve Jobs’ genius was his ability to convince us that every single thing Apple did shifted the Earth on its axis.

Recently, that feeling of magical futurism has faded. Apple events have been preceded by a feeling of “been there, done that.”

Forget the “wireless future” that Apple talked up at yesterday’s iPhone 7 event as it tried to convince us that we really want AirPods and a dongle rather than a headphone jack. If Apple has a strategy in 2016, it’s underpromise and overdeliver.

And it’s working great!
