Multiple FaceTime users have reported being overwhelmed with spam or prank group FaceTime calls, in which individuals are called by large numbers of spammers. When a person hangs up, a different number immediately calls them back.

Some users report this behavior being repeated over and over.

One of the improvements you’ll find inside Apple’s new iOS 13.5 update, rolled out earlier on Wednesday, is the ability to stop people from getting larger or moving around the screen during Group FaceTime calls.

Apple has confirmed that it’s possible for a FaceTime caller to listen to the person on the other end of the call — and even see them — before they pick up. Making use of this newly-discovered bug requires actions someone isn’t likely to do accidentally, which is probably why It wasn’t noticed during testing.

UPDATE: Apple said this evening it will quickly fix this serious privacy flaw. In the mean time, it has also disabled its servers needed for Group FaceTime to function.

Apple has introduced a fairly significant update for macOS Mojave. This isn’t just some bug fix tweak — version 10.14.1 brings fun new features.

The long wait for Group FaceTime calls is nearly over.

Apple revealed today that the big iOS 12.1 update will finally be released to the public tomorrow, bringing a host of new features and fixes to the iPhone and iPad.

Apple has published an updated iPhone User Guide for iOS 12.1 ahead of its public release. The document confirms a number of new features are on the way in this update, including Group FaceTime and Dual SIM support for the latest iPhone lineup.

Beta testing for macOS 10.14.1 began the day after the launch of its predecessor, macOS Mojave. A month later, the release of this new version could be drawing close.

Developers just got their hands on the fifth beta. Which might be the last.

The fifth beta version of iOS 12 was released exclusively to developers this morning. But it turns out everyone else didn’t have to wait very long because the public beta is already available.

In past beta cycles, Apple has made the public wait as much as a week to get a new pre-release version after developers could access it. The iOS 12.1 beta process is much more fast and loose.

Apple introduced the fourth beta of iOS 12.1 to the general public today. The wait for the full version of this upgrade is almost certainly nearly over.

iOS 12.1 beta 3 comes one week after Apple seeded the last beta build to developers. The company also released the third beta builds of watchOS 5.1 and tvOS 12.1 to developers today.

macOS 10.14 Mojave is still very new, but Apple isn’t resting on its laurels. It has already released the first public beta of a significant update.

Version 10.14.1 isn’t just bug fixes; it’s the first with Group FaceTime, a feature Apple has been promising since early summer.

macOS 10.14 Mojave launched yesterday, but Apple already started testing the next version. Developers were just given access to a pre-release beta of macOS 10.14.1.

With availability so recent, it’s not yet known what’s in the new version. That said, the most likely enhancement is the return of Group FaceTime.

Anyone who’d like to try out iOS 12.1 can now do so. Apple just seeded the first public beta, a couple of days after the developer-only version.

Be warned: those who are going to trade in their current iPhone for a shiny new iPhone X’s tomorrow absolutely should not install this.
