Back in 1984, Steve Jobs didn’t wear an Apple Watch. Instead, he wore a Seiko Chariot timepiece, as seen in an iconic photo used on the cover of Time magazine after Jobs’ 2011 death.

Today would’ve been Steve Jobs’ 62nd birthday, and Tim Cook took to Twitter to pay tribute to Apple’s co-founder and Cook’s predecessor as CEO.
“Remembering Steve, whose words and ideals will always inspire us,” Cook wrote. He then quoted a line from Jobs: “There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
Apple is set to launch three new iPads this year, including an entry-level 9.7-inch iPad, 10.5-inch iPad, and upgraded 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, according to a new report you could be waiting a bit longer than expected for the two larger sizes.
Previously it was suggested that all three would be released in the first quarter of 2017, but it’s now sounding like Apple will hold off until May or June before the 10.5- and 12.9-inch models hit shelves.
Apple is investigating an iPhone 7 Plus that reportedly exploded and began pouring out smoke earlier this week. A video of the incident went viral when it was posted on Twitter.

Apple has criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to reverse a policy that allowed transgender students to use bathrooms according to the gender they identify as.

In an attempt to crack down on confusion and protect its intellectual property rights, Apple has acquired the website iCloud.net, previously the home of a small Chinese social network.
The web address now displays a message revealing that the site as it currently exists will be closing at the end of the month, and that all existing user data will be destroyed.
AAPL shares closed at yet another all-time high on Tuesday, with a value of $136.68 — or an increase of 0.71 percent.

Apple Pay may be set to arrive in two new markets, as Apple has updated the local support document pages for both Germany and Italy.
The pages now include translations of the “About Apple Pay” document which can be found in other markets where Apple Pay is already active. The pages were both updated last week.
Apple has filed a defense against its massive European Commission tax bill, arguing that it shouldn’t have to pay its $14 billion tax bill, and that the request should be either totally or partially annulled.
The argument, essentially, is a 14-point extension of Tim Cook’s previous assertion that existing tax codes are designed for an industrial, rather than a digital age.
Apple asserts that the European Commission misunderstands Apple’s business dealings, and says the reason it shouldn’t have to pay massive taxes in Ireland is because the actual profit-driving work Apple does is carried out elsewhere.

Apple’s flagship retail store in Sydney, Australia, was temporarily evacuated earlier today as part of a “police operation.”
A sniffer dog was spotted entering the building, while the three-story venue was cleared of customers by police, who also diverted local traffic. According to one customer who was evacuated, store employees were talking about a bomb threat. She noted that police were “very firm in telling people to leave immediately.”
The de-facto head of Samsung, Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, was arrested earlier today on alleged corruption charges.
