Periodically, Best Buy has been known to offer $50 discounts on select iPhones and iPads. If you’re looking to save a few bucks on an Apple product, Best Buy’s deals are a good, regularly occurring window to buy the device you’ve had your eye on.

If you’ve been waiting for that window to open again, good news! Starting this Sunday, February 16, and going to February 22nd, Best Buy will be taking $50 off the purchase of any iPhone with a two-year contract on any carrier.

You can also get $50 off the iPad mini with Retina Display, but only if you hop to it: that deal ends today. And if you trade in your old iPad while you’re with it, you can get a Best Buy gift card worth up to $200… probably not the best value for trading-in an old iPad, but a deal that could possibly influence some President’s Day weekend impulse shoppers.

We’ve been hearing tell that Microsoft will release a version of Office for iPad “soon” since at least February 2012, but instead of a native version, the only thing Microsoft has released so far is Office 365, a cloud-based version of the Office suite that works on mobile devices.

According to some well-connected insiders, though, the wait is almost over, and Microsoft could launch Microsoft Office for iPad in the next three months.

Getting so many naked pictures from beautiful, nubile women that are in love with you that your iPhone crashes? That sounds like one of those good problems to me… and to Russian snowboarding athlete Alexey Sobolev, whose iPhone was bombarded by nude pics after he put his phone number on his helmet for all the world to see. But it’s not stressing him out.

We all know Apple is one of the biggest companies around, but how big is just iTunes? Bigger than many famous, multinational corporations, as it turns out… and that’s without counting in iPhone, iPad and Mac sales.

There’s talk that the iPod is dead, but not so. Although Apple’s selling less of its iconic MP3 player than it has in years, there’s at least one place where iPods are worth their weight in gold: Sochi, where an Olypic athlete nicknamed ‘iPod’ has brought home the gold.

Now that Apple is making products in the U.S.A., every state wants to be in on the action. Especially Arizona, who was so determined to get Cupertino to choose the pretty town of Mesa as the location of its upcoming sapphir glass factory that they offered significant benefits — including tax breaks — to get Apple to move in.

For the iWatch, many expect Apple to unveil the next big thing, the true successor to the iPhone in the wearable age. But a new report citing “limited by direct knowledge of Apple’s plans for the iWatch” claims that Apple’s wristband will be a much simpler affair, more akin to a Nike Fuelband or a FitBit than the standalone “holy grail” device previous reports have indicated.

To celebrate 50 years since The Fab Four appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Apple TV has been quietly updated with its own Beatles channel, which streams the band’s famous debut performance on U.S. shores.

In addition to streaming all 14-minutes of the Beatles first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the new Beatles channel also allows you to purchase all of Steve Jobs’ favorite band’s U.S. albums.

iMessage, Facetime, Siri… what will Apple’s next innovation be? This video humorously speculates that for the iPhone 6, Apple might take a page from Emmett Brown’s book with the iFlux Capacitor, an app that will allow any car to travel back in time, take photos in another century, as well as let you send messages to yourself in the past and track the stock market of the future. Generally speaking, you can count on the latest iPhone to improve upon the camera of the model that preceded it. That means that when the iPhone 6 comes along, we can expect it to have a better camera than the iPhone 5s’s 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Now a new rumor suggests that Apple has already selected a supplier for the iPhone 6, which will have a 10-megapixel camera with a f/1.8 aperture. Moreover, it will replace the hybrid IR filter used on the iPhone 5s with a resin lens filter, which would allegedly result in clearer images.

There was a time when the most luxurious laptops around weren’t MacBooks. They were Sony Vaios, and up[on his return to Apple in 1997, Steve Jobs so admired the design and engineering of the Vaio line-up that he wanted to make an exception and license OS X to Sony for use on their laptops. And it almost happened.

It was always a matter of time before Apple killed off the popular Evasi0n jailbreak, and as of iOS 7.1 beta 4, they had killed off at least one critical exploit.

But Apple’s not going to stop there. They’re nuking Evasi0n from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
