Apple has confirmed that the Apple Watch is coming to a slew of new countries, as well as Apple Stores, this month.

Beginning Friday, June 26, customers in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan will finally be able to throw down their cash for Apple’s debut wearable device by visiting the Apple Online Store or dropping into their local brick-and-mortar Apple retailer.

And that’s not all.

“The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world,” Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of Operations, said in a statement.

“We’re also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and we thank our customers for their patience. All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks.”

Intriguingly Williams also notes that Apple will begin selling “some models” in Apple Retail Stores at this time. This follows on from a report yesterday claiming that Apple is likely to use WWDC to announce exactly when Apple Stores are going to start selling Apple Watches directly.

Until now, Apple has used its retail stores to show off the Watches — and made them available for in-store pickup to customers who order online — but it hasn’t been possible to do the entire selection and payment process in-store.

Finally, Apple’s announcement today reveals that new Apple Watch pop-up stores will be opening at 10 Corso Como in Milan, BOONTHESHOP Cheongdam in Seoul, and Malmaison by The Hour Glass in Singapore.
