Expect to see a lot more of this color in iOS 6.
Expect to see a lot more of this color in iOS 6.

The core apps and features in Apple’s iOS operating system have looked largely the same since the original iPhone made its debut back in 2007. Put certain iOS 5 apps — Calendar, Contacts, Maps, YouTube — alongside those from the original iPhone OS and you’ll notice hardly any difference.

However, Apple could be gearing up to make some changes in iOS 6 that will introduce a fresh new look to the iPhone. This summer we could be waving goodbye to that traditional iPhone blue that has adorned iOS apps for the past five years and saying hello to sexy silver.

Europe's MacSysAdmin 2012 Offers Four Days of Apple/Enterprise training

WWDC may have sold out quickly, but as we reported there are alternative events for IT professionals  and developers that want to network and hone their skills. One of those is the annual European Macintosh System Administrators Meeting, which began accepting registrations this week for this year’s event, which will be held in Sweden this September.

Unlike WWDC, MacSysAdmin isn’t intended for developers as much as it is IT professionals that need to deploy and manage Apple technologies in business and education.

New Initiative Aims To Let More Developers Attend This Year’s Sold-Out WWDC

Plenty of people were unable to score tickets to WWDC this year.
Plenty of people were unable to score tickets to WWDC this year.

Apple sold all of the seats to its Worldwide Developer Conference this year in a matter of only two hours, and the conference sold out before most of the west coast had even crawled out of bed. If you didn’t signup fast enough, you didn’t get a pass to the hottest developer gathering in town.

WWDC demand has spawned several alternatives, including Indie Developer Lab in San Francisco. Many developers were unable to attend WWDC due to how fast the event sold out, and Apple has killed the ability to resell tickets this year.

Mobile game maker CocoaChina has put together a site that aims to get Apple’s attention regarding the pent-up-demand for WWDC 2012.

Apple has taken drastic measure to stop WWDC ticket touts this year. Has your order been cancelled?

Apple has emailed a number of developers who scrambled to purchase tickets for its Worldwide Developers Conference this June to tell them that their order has been cancelled. Anyone who purchased more than one $1,600 ticket on their credit card is likely to find that their order is “not eligible,” but a phone call to the Cupertino company could rectify the issue.

Didn't make WWDC this year? Indie Developer Lab has got you covered.
Didn't make WWDC this year? Indie Developer Lab has got you covered.

Apple’s 2012 Worldwide Developer Conference sold out in just two hours yesterday morning, and most of the west coast got screwed because it all happened before many had even crawled out of bed. Now we’re here to tell you at the comfortable time of 8 A.M. PST about Indie Developer Lab, a conference for the devs who weren’t able to get into WWDC this year.

Helmed by developers Kyle Kinkade and Nate True with the help of Craig Fox, Indie Developer Lab 2012 will take place June 11-14th in San Francisco, California. As a response to the near-instantaneous sell-out of this year’s WWDC, the Indie Developer Lab is an alternative venue for iOS and Mac developers to meet, work, and share ideas.
