Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference keynote this June was so packed that even two-and-a-half hours didn’t seem like enough time. And yet the biggest announcement wasn’t new hardware, or a new app. It was an update.

Specifically, the iOS 11 update for the iPad, which turns Apple’s tablet from little more than a big iPhone into a full-featured touchscreen PC. In one go, Apple showed that it is still full-steam behind the iPad, and that a desktop-class touchscreen computer doesn’t have to actually run a desktop OS, like Microsoft’s Surface.

Handoff is one of those iOS/Mac features that seems great, but is limited in use. However, a simple tweak has made Handoff waaaay better in iOS 11. Now, instead of having a tiny app icon appear in the corner of your lock screen, Handoff apps show up right there in the new iOS 11 Dock.

This simple change has gotten me using Handoff again, instead of ignoring it like I have for the past however many years.

As the Mac user base continues to grow, so does the malware threat.

McAfee Labs’ latest quarterly Threats Report was issued this week, revealing new macOS malware rose 53 percent during early 2017.

The iOS 11 beta has only been available for a few weeks, but already it’s been cracked by some enterprising jailbreakers — although don’t expect to be able to get your hands on it just yet.

The iOS 11 beta 2 jailbreak was shown off by security researchers at the recent Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) 2017 in Shanghai, China. Photos of the demo were posted online by Min Zheng, Senior Security Engineer at Alibaba.

Full details on the new iMac Pro still haven’t be unveiled by Apple even though it showed the machine off at WWDC 2017, but according to a new report, Apple’s desktop beast may pack a surprising server-grade processor from Intel to make it unbelievably fast.

Sling TV’s awesome cloud DVR feature, which lets you record shows and movies to watch later, is finally available on iOS.

The service costs an extra $5 a month, for which you get 50 hours of storage, but there’s still no option to save your recordings offline.
