It appears Apple’s vaunted supply chain may have some kinks in it — at least for Australian users. After pre-ordering the iPhone 4S on Oct. 7, Apple fans in that country may have to wait two weeks for delivery, reports said Friday. Seems Apple gave U.S. and European iPhone 4S pre-orders delivery priority.
Following months and months of speculation, Apple’s iPhone 4S has finally been launched in the U.S. today, and is now available to through carriers AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, as well as a number of U.S. retailers such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and, of course, Apple.
Apple’s made another good PR decision this week in regards to AppleCare+ and the policy about the requirement that you had to buy AppleCare+ at the same time as your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 8GB model. If you are a long time Apple customer like I am you were surprised to find out that you had to buy the two together since this isn’t the norm for AppleCare. Usually you could add AppleCare to any Apple hardware product as long as it was still under the first year warranty.
The change caused a stir among Apple’s customers so the company changed the policy, but only until November 14, 2011.

When Apple introduced MobileMe, they really created a cluster$@#! of a situation with Apple IDs because they forced you to make a new one when you signed up. That means that millions of MobileMe users have two Apple IDs: the one they’ve used forever to buy songs, movies and apps, and another Apple ID forced upon you for MobileMe.
Well, now iCloud is here and MobileMe accounts have been ported and almost all of MobileMe’s services are now free. Wouldn’t it be nice to frickin’ be able to merge those two IDs into one so you don’t have to worry about this crap anymore?

The updates just don’t stop! Apple also updated its iMove, Remote, and Find My iPhone apps today with iOS 5 support and new features.
Remote 2.2 brings iOS 5 compatibility and “additional stability and performance improvements.” iMove 1.2.2 offers iOS 5 compatibility and added support for video imported from external cameras. Find My iPhone 1.3 lets you find a Mac via GPS and receive an email when a registered device comes back online after being lost, all thanks to the magical powers of iCloud.

Apple guidelines prohibit third-party giveaways with iPhones and iPads as prizes — but that hasn’t stopped enterprising companies from using Apple’s latest hot product, the iPhone 4S, as a contest giveaway.
In the past, the Cupertino company has cracked down on a few iPad giveaways – in one case not approving a company’s app until it pulled the contest – but it has been hit and miss.
What started as a downer for deflated consumers may become yet another runaway hit for Apple. Already with more than 1 million advance orders, the iPhone 4S is expected to ship to 2.5 million eager fans during the upcoming Christmas season.
After releasing multiple versions of its iconic iPhone handset, Apple has built in what one Wall Street expert Wednesday calls “an annuity of smartphone buyers.” The iPhone 4S typifies such thinking as 18 percent of 2012 sales for the new phone is expected to come from owners of previous iPhone models.
Sure, the new iPhone 4S has a brand-spanking new iOS 5, the endlessly cool Siri voice-recognition and HD-quality digital camera. But perhaps the most exciting feature for Apple is the 71 percent to 73 percent profit margin on each handset sold – and there should be millions, one analyst said.
