What started as a downer for deflated consumers may become yet another runaway hit for Apple. Already with more than 1 million advance orders, the iPhone 4S is expected to ship to 2.5 million eager fans during the upcoming Christmas season.
According to DigiTimes, the Taiwan-based publication which tracks electronic suppliers, Apple’s No. 2 iPhone supplier, Pegatron, received from Apple an order for 15 million iPhone 4S handsets, up from a previously-expected 10 million units.
Pegatron is also preparing to handle orders for Apple’s iPad 3 after retooling to build a metal chassis.

Stupid article. Check your numbers. They sold 1 million in one DAY!
2.5 million? during the Christmas period? They already sold a million in 24 hours… You must mean 25 million… Yeah – thats the ticket..
Did you accidentally include a decimal point where one didn’t belong? Given that the number two iPhone maker has an order to build 15 million, it would seem reasonable that total orders are near or above 30 million units. Let’s just call that 25 million… a factor of ten above your value of 2.5.
