“Budget” headphones keep getting better, and I’ve discovered a pair of over-ear wireless noise-canceling cans you can get for less than $70 that pretty much equal the excellent — and much pricier — Beats Studio Pro. In this EarFun Tune Pro headphones review, I’ll get into how they’re very nearly as good as Beats Studio Pro in every way that truly counts — sound quality, noise cancellation and comfort. And Tune Pro’s epic battery life blows away most headphones, full stop.
At launch, EarFun lists the cans for $89.99 marked down to $69.99, with a further 20% off coupon available on Amazon. That should make them about $56 at checkout before tax.

Initially known for excellent and affordable earbuds, EarFun’s first set of headphones, Wave Pro, impressed me for their great quality for the price. So did the second set, Wave Life. Now EarFun Tune Pro comes along and surprises me even more. They’re flat-out great headphones for an even lower price than their predecessors! EarFun offered early-bird pricing at just $49, but even the regular price of $70 amazes me. Read on to find out why.

Attractive design and good build quality

EarFun Tune Pro headphones feature an over-ear design with a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that belies their budget-friendly price point. At 10.2 ounces (289.5 grams), they’re lighter than many competitors in their class, including my go-to over-ear noise-cancelers — the much pricier Beats Studio Pro (270g). Tune Pro headphones come with soft, breathable ear cups that provide good cushioning for extended listening sessions.
One of the standout design features is their foldable construction, which enhances portability (though they don’t come with a case) and makes them convenient for travel. That makes them more flexible than Beats Studio Pro, with similar build quality. EarFun Tune Pro doesn’t feel at all cheap or flimsy. The headband offers adequate padding and it clamps a less forcefully on the head than Studio Pro (something Beats headphones are still known for despite softening the clamp).
Comfortable fit

When it comes to comfort, EarFun Tune Pro performs admirably for its price range. The over-ear design encompasses the ears fully, creating a good seal without excessive pressure. I wore these headphones for many hours during testing, and while I did experience some fatigue after extended sessions, it wasn’t significant enough to be a dealbreaker.
Unlike Beats Studio Pro, which many users (particularly those with glasses) report as uncomfortable due to their tight clamping force and slightly smaller ear cups, EarFun Tune Pro offers a more accommodating fit. The ear cups are spacious enough to fit most ear sizes, and the clamping force strikes a good balance between security and comfort.
Excellent audio quality

EarFun Tune Pro features a dual-driver system: a 40mm PET composite film driver handling the full frequency spectrum, complemented by a 10mm LCP polymer driver enhancing high-end detail. This configuration earns the headphones Hi-Res Audio certification.
In practice, the sound signature is surprisingly well-balanced for budget headphones. Bass response is punchy without being overwhelming. That’s a welcome departure from the bass-heavy profiles often associated with budget headphones. Mids are clear and present, allowing vocals to shine through, while the highs are crisp without becoming harsh or sibilant.
Compared to Beats Studio Pro, EarFun Tune Pro holds its own remarkably well. While the Beats deliver slightly more refined sound with ever-so-slightly better instrument separation and soundstage, the difference isn’t as dramatic as the price gap would suggest. In fact, I struggled to hear differences. For casual listening, EarFun Tune Pro delivers impressive audio quality that will satisfy most listeners.
The headphones also feature a “Theater Mode” that enhances stereo and spatial sound, similar to Apple’s Spatial Audio technology. While not as immersive as premium implementations, it adds a noticeable depth to movies and specially-mastered music.
Good noise cancellation

EarFun Tune Pro implements hybrid active noise cancellation that can block up to 45dB of ambient noise. In real-world testing, ANC performance is good, though not exceptional. It effectively reduces low-frequency noises like air conditioners, airplane engines and traffic rumble. However, it struggles somewhat with higher-frequency sounds like voices and keyboard clicks.
And again, it’s on par with Beats Studio Pro’s ANC. When directly compared, there’s a small gap in noise cancellation effectiveness. The Beats provide a smidge more comprehensive noise reduction across a wider frequency range, creating a more isolated listening experience. However, given the significant price difference, EarFun’s noise cancellation performs admirably and will be sufficient for most daily use scenarios.
One advantage EarFun offers is that its ANC works even in wired mode, a flexibility that some premium headphones don’t provide.
Outstanding battery life

Battery life is where the EarFun Tune Pro truly shines. With an impressive (up to) 120 hours of playback with ANC off and 80 hours with ANC enabled, they absolutely demolish the competition. Beats Studio Pro, by comparison, offers 40 hours without ANC and 24 hours with ANC activated. Plenty of other headphones come in around the 50-hour mark. I listened to Tune Pro a lot and came nowhere near needing a recharge.
Tune Pro also supports fast charging. The cans provide 10 hours of playback from just a 15-minute charge — more than twice what the Beats Studio Pro offers (4 hours from a 10-minute charge).
Special features
EarFun Tune Pro comes loaded with features typically found in more expensive headphones:

- AI-powered 5-microphone array helps make calls clear.
- Built-in 1100mAh battery allows up to 120-hour playtime.
- Companion app features equalizer settings and noise cancellation adjustments.
- Support for voice assistants.
- USB-C and 3.5mm wired (Hi-Res Audio certified) connections provide listening options.

Price comparison

At a list price of $89.99 $69.99 (or about $56 with 20% off coupon on Amazon before tax), EarFun Tune Pro presents exceptional value compared to more-expensive premium headphones. Beats Studio Pro, for example, retails for $349 (though often available for around $249). Beats Studio Pro are excellent headphones, as are plenty of competitors in roughly the same price range.
But EarFun Tune Pro are unbelievably great headphones at a paltry 70 bucks or less. The price difference between these cans and pricier contemporaries is substantial, making EarFun’s latest headphones an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers. Or anyone, really.
EarFun Tune Pro headphones review: bottom line
EarFun Tune Pro headphones constitute a remarkable achievement in the budget headphone space. While they don’t quite match the audio refinement or noise cancellation prowess of the significantly more expensive Beats Studio Pro, they come surprisingly close in those areas and surpass them in battery life and comfort.
For casual listeners who want good sound quality, effective noise cancellation and exceptional battery life without breaking the bank, EarFun Tune Pro represents outstanding value. They make a compelling case that you don’t need to spend premium prices to get a satisfying listening experience.
The most impressive aspect is how few compromises EarFun has made to hit this price point. Rather than being positioned as merely a budget alternative, Tune Pro stands as a legitimate competitor that challenges the notion that great audio experiences must come with premium price tags.
