EarFun looks set to make some waves in the premium headphones market with its new Tune Pro cans. They could make devotees of AirPods Max and other fancy headphones sit up and take notice. The wireless noise-canceling Tune Pro headphones, scheduled for official release May 20, launch Tuesday with an early-bird deal bringing the already-low list price of $70 down to a stunning $49 for a limited time.

My review of these new headphones is coming soon. I’m already testing them. And I’ll just say this for now: Getting these great cans for under $50 seems like a miracle deal.

EarFun Tune Pro headphones

EarFun Tune Pro headphones feature a sophisticated dual-driver system that might appeal to Apple users accustomed to high-fidelity sound. The main 40mm PET composite film driver delivers the full frequency spectrum, while an additional 10mm LCP polymer driver enhances the high-end detail. This configuration has earned the headphones Hi-Res Audio certification, suggesting sound quality that could compete with Apple’s premium offerings like the much more expensive AirPods Max even more than other quality EarFun cans already do.

For media consumption, Tune Pro includes a Theater Mode that provides enhanced stereo and 360-degree spatial sound, similar to Apple’s Spatial Audio technology but available at a fraction of the price.

Battery life puts AirPods Max to shame

Perhaps the most striking advantage of the Tune Pro is its battery performance. While AirPods Max offers around 20 hours of listening time, Tune Pro boasts an impressive 120 hours of total playtime — six times longer than Apple’s flagship headphones. This extended battery life eliminates the frequent charging needed with most wireless headphones.

The Tune Pro also features fast-charging capability, providing 10 hours of playback from just a 15-minute charge, which could be particularly valuable for Apple users who are constantly on the move.

Noise cancellation and call clarity

EarFun implemented hybrid active noise cancellation that can block up to 45dB of ambient noise. That feature might appeal to Apple users who rely on noise cancellation for productivity or travel. The system works even in wired mode, offering flexibility that some Apple products don’t provide.

Call quality, always a priority in the Apple ecosystem, is addressed with an AI-powered 5-microphone array that performs intelligent noise reduction during voice calls and video conferences.

Smart features for the connected user

Tune Pro uses Bluetooth 5.4 for stable connections and includes multipoint connectivity. That lets users to seamlessly switch between Apple devices — a feature that integrates well with the Apple ecosystem. A dedicated Game Mode, accessible through the companion app, delivers ultra-low latency for mobile gamers.

The EarFun Audio App provides customization options. They include a multi-band equalizer and noise cancellation adjustments, giving users control similar to what they might expect from Apple’s audio settings.

Comfort and portability

Designed for all-day wear, Tune Pro features soft, breathable ear cups and a lightweight frame. It’s much lighter than — you guessed it — AirPods Max. It’s  similar in weight to Beats Studio Pro.

The foldable design enhances portability, making these headphones a convenient option for Apple users on the go.

Pricing and availability

EarFun Tune Pro launches May 20 on EarFun’s website and its official Amazon store for $69.99 — significantly less than Apple’s audio offerings.

But early adopters can take advantage of a 30% discount from May 6 through 19 at EarFun, meaning early buyers can spend just $48.99 on the cans. They can just enter their email address at EarFun to receive a discount code for use on May 20.
