Love doesn’t have to be complicated. I can fall for a product just because it’s simply perfect, even though what it does isn’t very complex. That’s what happened with the new Casemade Leather Laptop Case.
It’s made of top-quality cowhide leather, with a wool interior… including a pocket. It zippers closed and cushions the computer without unnecessary bulk.
I’ve been happily carrying my notebook in this case because it’s simply beautiful and designed exactly right for what it does.

Casemade Leather Laptop Case review
When shopping for a notebook case, it’s important to know what you want going in because they come in a wide range of features. On one end of the spectrum are simpler designs that are essentially covers for your computer. But that’s only the start; other cases add pockets, handles, more padding, handles, straps and more.
The new Casemade Leather Laptop Case sits in the middle, nearer the simpler end of the spectrum. The zipped folio offers a modest amount of padding, one interior pocket, and no handle.
Personally, I love the simple design and the minimal bulk. The absolutely premium materials help, too.
Crafted from top-quality leather, this case is durable and develops a beautiful patina over time. Plus, the soft wool interior protects your laptop from scratches and bumps.
- Beautiful, elegant and slim

Simple and beautiful leather notebook case

The Casemade Leather Laptop Case is more than a layer of cowhide wrapped around your computer, but that’s what you see first. It’s really top quality — my review unit looks flawless and feels great. And leather manages to be both soft and durable.
Built quality is excellent. The design doesn’t emphasize the stitching, but where it shows, it’s neat and even.
My unit is tan, but Casemade also produces the Leather Laptop Case in black.
The double-pull zipper is easy to work, and the fabric around it exactly matches the color of the leather.

Unzip Casemade’s Leather Laptop Case to reveal the wool lining. This is soft enough to prevent scratches to the aluminum exterior of your MacBook or iPad.
Inside is a pocket for small accessories like SSDs and cables, and documents, too.
Under the leather sits a layer of padding that both cushions the notebook and holds the case’s shape. This padding protects the computer from the kind of mishaps that might happen in an office, but don’t imagine it is up to real disasters.
Choose your perfect size
One version of the Casemade Leather Laptop Case fits 14-inch notebooks, and a larger iteration fits 16-inch models.
Any laptop up to 12.4 inches (315mm) by 8.6 inches (225mm) by 0.98 inches (25mm) goes into the smaller option. That’s right for 13-inch MacBooks, and is a perfect fit for a 14-inch MacBook Pro.
The larger version of the leather case offers room for laptops up to 14.17 inches (360mm) by 9.92 inches (252mm) by 0.98 inches (25mm). That’s ideal for a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and the case also fits 15-inch MacBooks.
The drawback of a form-fitting folio case like this one is that there’s probably not room for a wall charger for your MacBook inside it. Before you overreact to that, consider that your MacBook can go over 12 hours on a single charge. You don’t really need to bring a charger to a one-hour meeting.
Also, a MacBook in a leather notebook case makes you look like an executive. But to accomplish that, the combination must be slim. Jamming it with bulky accessories ruins that.
Casemade Leather Laptop Case review: Final thoughts
I used to carry my MacBook Air around in a case with all the extras: big pockets, handles and loads of padding. It boasted plenty of room for accessories and loads of protection for my laptop. It also made the MacBook about ten times bigger and five times heavier, so I almost never used it. I’m much happier with a smaller folio case like this one from Casemade because it goes with me everywhere.
Plus, the leather exterior looks so very professional. It’s at home in a boardroom or a corner office.
