 After teasing the upcoming release of fitness-oriented Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds in September 2024, Apple and subsidiary Beats just made new filings with regulatory agencies that all but confirm the new buds will come out soon, according to a Wednesday report. The new earbuds likely will go on sale within weeks (or a couple of months at the latest). Apple continues to integrate its ecosystem, and users can take advantage of features through the Beats app for iPhone to optimize their listening experience.

Apple subsidiary Beats by Dre said Thursday its new, limited-edition PowerBeats Pro earbuds will celebrate the NBA’s 75th anniversary, marked through the 2021-2022 season.

Designed in partnership with Canada-based brand and retailer Better, the new Powerbeats Pro are off-white and sport red and blue ear tips. The Beats logo goes head-to-head with the NBA logo on one bud and with the Better logo on the other.

Powerbeats Pro comes in four new colors starting June 9. Unconfirmed reports of Glacier Blue, Spring Yellow, Cloud Pink and Lava Red versions of Beats’ truly wireless headset have been circulating for weeks, but today brought the official unveiling.

But it’s still unclear if the upcoming 2020 version is different from the earlier one in any substantive way.

Glacier Blue, Spring Yellow and Cloud Pink are all softer pastel colors, while Lava Red is a brighter color like Apple’s (PRODUCT)RED variants. According to the report, the wireless earphones will come in a black case.

Apple will reportedly soon announce four new brighter colors for its Powerbeats Pro line of earbuds, ranging from Cloud Pink and Spring Yellow to Glacier Blue and Lava Red.
