An incredibly sketchy rumor claims Apple has plans to build a new 5-inch iPhone which, size-wise, would slot between the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus.
The 5-inch iPhone would reportedly sport an 8 MP camera, dual-LED flash, full HD display and A9 processor.
So what’s the evidence for it? A sketch shared on Chinese social media, reportedly by a “Foxconn insider.” Because anyone can take a blurry photo showing a component and claim it’s a new Apple product, but only people truly familiar with Tim Cook’s plans can sketch out a picture on the back of an envelope and put it online. Or something.
Personally, I can’t see there being any truth to this rumor whatsoever. We’ve already heard that Apple may reintroduce its “c” smartphones with a 4-inch iPhone 6c. That would give customers small, medium and large choices of iPhones. The chances of Apple launching a fourth iPhone size — particularly one we’ve heard absolutely nothing about so far — are slim to nonexistent.
Besides, is there really anyone out there longing for a 5-inch iPhone because their hands are too big for the iPhone 6, but too small for the 6 Plus? Leave your comments below.

id love a 5 inch iPhone i thinks its the sweet spot screen size. the 55 is just too big for my hands and pockets
Doesn’t make any sense to me – 5in would sit right between the two current ones and not offer enough differentiation. The possibility of a 4in C model makes a bit of sense in providing a “compact” size and all the components and tooling probably already exist – whether it will appear I can’t say… But 5″ – no sorry that’s just silly (unless it’s not for a phone!
Actually, 5.2 or 5.3″ would be perfect :)
Totally think a 5″ iPhone would be the sweet spot for me too. Too bad.
Back to one model in the sweet spot. It’s so sweet that the drawing alone is already attracting bees (see photo).
And by the looks of the picture it will come with some sorte of honeycomb design.

That picture only says “12M picture”, “dual LED flash lights”, and “widen white area”. Nothing else. These mandarin characters written in yellow ink are only irrelative doodles; these under his thumb are automobile manufacturer brand names in Chinese (Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati…), and the bottom half is an ancient (700 A.D.) poem.
I’ve always wanted something bigger than the 6, but smaller than the 6 plus. It would, indeed, be the “sweet spot”. I’m not compelled to upgrade to the 6S, in 4.7 or 5.5 inch size, but would be first in line for a new phone that was between the current two size offerings.
Wow this is going to bomb… who in their right mind would spend $650 or more on a copy of the iPhone5
