The Satechi OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub helps your iPad become the heart of a compact workstation. It holds up the tablet while simultaneously expanding its connectivity with five additional ports.

The multifunction stand also folds down so it’s ready to travel.

The iPad can be the center of a productive setup with an external monitor, speakers, keyboard and more, but this requires a stand as well as more ways to connect accessories than the tablet itself provides.

That’s where the Satechi OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub comes in. While propping up the screen, it also adds a range of useful ports.

But don’t think it’s bulky. When folded flat, the accessory measures under an inch thick, making it easy to slip into a backpack or laptop sleeve for travel.

“OntheGo is for the modern creative,” said Brock Guclu, Satechi’s co-founder and president. “We designed it for those who never stop moving — a device that’s compact enough to travel, yet powerful enough to replace an entire desk setup.”

Hub with five useful ports

The Satechi OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub includes an HDMI port capable of driving an external display at up to 4K resolution at 60Hz.

The hub also features 10Gbps USB-C and USB-A ports intended for fast transfers of large files such as RAW photos or 4K video. And a second USB-C port offers Power Delivery passthrough supporting up to 100 watts to keep your iPad charged during long work sessions.

With photographers and videographers in mind, Satechi added UHS-II SD and microSD card readers that support transfer speeds up to 312MBps, allowing users to easily import media from cameras and drones without carrying separate adapters.

The hub connects to the iPad with a short USB-C cable that can be stored in a protective slot on the bottom of the accessory.

A travel stand, too

Flip out a kickstand to make the Satechi OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub ready to hold up an iPad.

This uses a reinforced hinge that the company says has been tested for thousands of folds. A non-magnetic universal grip holds devices securely whether they are used bare or inside a protective case.

The accessory is optimized for Apple tablets, including the iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini, as long as they include a USB-C port, not a Lightning port.

Available now

The Satechi OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub launched Tuesday. It comes in a Space Black finish and is priced at $79.99.
