Shotgun-wielding mom dishes out Southern justice to an iPhone

Surviving gunshots? There's no app for that.

Confiscating your kids’ mobile phones not enough of a punishment? Well, if you’re like one Southern mom there’s always the option of shooting up their iPhone with a shotgun to really make your point!

“I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children,” the woman says at the beginning of a video, which was uploaded to YouTube over the weekend.

The ensuing iPhone execution would bring tears to the eyes of poor Jony Ive.

The question of how much kids should be allowed to use devices like smartphones and tablets has raged on for quite some time now. In a recent study by the University of Michigan, parents with “difficult” children were found to be far more likely to pacify them by handing over a mobile device.

Steve Jobs, meanwhile, was careful about not letting his kids use iOS devices when they shouldn’t be. With that said, I can’t image Jobs shooting up a smartphone if he found his kid using one during family time — unless it was an Android handset, that is!

Then I could picture him using this gorgeous double-barreled shotgun, designed by Jony Ive BFF and Apple designer Marc Newson, to do the deed.

Update: Unfortunately it appears that the video has been pulled.

She should be a little worried about the effect that having a psychotic fatass redneck mom has on her children.

Rifles fire bullets. A shotgun is not a rifle.

    • JOhnny says:

How about when it shoots a single slug? I think rifle is a cover-all for something not a hand gun. Looking at her just be glad she can speak English

      • proto732 says:

Firearm is the cover all generic term. Rifle applies to a firearm that fires bullets and has a rotational bore in a long barrel. Shotguns fire shells, not bullets … birdshot, buckshot, slugs… Normal shotguns are smooth bore.

Just a detail that caught my eye, I’m sure no one cares either way. :)

You could go on to say that “long gun” is the generic term for firearms that are not handguns. Although that could be a moving target (pun intended) because the barrels of handguns are getting longer and the visible barrels of rifles are getting shorter.

I was going to say I guess it would have to have a rifled barrel to be a rifle. OH well, thanks
