The Apple repair gurus at iFixit have been meticulously tearing down the iPhone 6 Plus over the last few hours and have discovered new details about Apple’s first phablet.
The teardown revealed that the iPhone 6 Plus battery has nearly double the capacity of the iPhone 5s with 2915 mAh of energy, which is slightly larger than the 2800 mAh battery on the Galaxy S5. They’ve confirmed that Apple’s new A8 processor only comes with 1GB of RAM on both the 6 and 6 Plus, and have also dissected the 6 Plus camera module to reveal its new optical image stabilization technology.

- Murata 339S0228 Wi-Fi Module
- Apple/Dialog 338S1251-AZ Power Management IC
- Broadcom BCM5976 Touchscreen Controller
- NXP LPC18B1UK ARM Cortex-M3 Microcontrollers (also known as the M8 Motion Coprocessor)
- NXP 65V10 NFC module + Secure Element (Most likely contains an NXP PN544 NFC controller inside)
- Qualcomm WTR1625L RF Transceiver
- Qualcomm PM8019 power management IC
- Texas Instruments 343S0694 touch transmitter
- AMS AS3923 boosted NFC tag front end

How long till the ifixit guys start whining about how “unrepeairable” Apple has made the phone? Y’know, like they do every time Apple releases a piece of hardware.
I believe this fact just says that Apple is able to optimise the OS to the point that it does not require 3 GB of ram and 8 cores to run. I guess good for apple bad for green tiny robot. I never get this specs comparison part.
You have a smartphone that works fast and stable, runs all apps you throw at it the last thing you have yo care about is how much ram it got. Because as long as it works there is not importance of RAM or cores.
