Do you hate the new Twitter? You’re not alone. The backlash against the changes in the new iPhone app are so loud and raucous that Tapbot is going to extreme measures to help make sure everyone gets through the Twitter 4.0 “upgrade” in one piece: they are putting their industry fave Twitter client Tweetbot on sale for the first time ever!

Yup, for a limited time only, Tweetbot’s price has dropped from $2.99 to $0.99.

Frankly, that’s a steal: a quick look at out archives shows that we love Tweetbot, and gave it an extremely exultory review. Hell, the only reason I still use the official Twitter app is because Tweetbot just isn’t available for the iPad.

If you use Twitter on your iPhone at all, go grab Tweetbot now for less than a buck. You’ll be glad you did.

    I reverted back to Twitter v. 3.5.1.

    How do you do this?

I don’t understand how Twitter can so consistently misread its own (limited) audience when it comes to Apps.

I think people don’t like the new twitter, basically, because it’s different.

I was using tweetbot until the new twitter app came out. I switched back because the new interface is much more simple and i love how i don’t have to go to two places for retweets and mentions. Everything is unified in an elegant way. I originally switched to tweetbot because the interface was a lot better and there was more functionality.Just my two cents.

I deleted 4.0. Then, I went into Time Machine > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Mobile Applications > selected the Twitter app from before 4.0 was installed. And I restored it into the Mobile Applications folder.

Then, while the iPhone was connected to my Mac, I dragged the older Twitter app from the apps in iTunes to my iPhone. I had to redo a couple of settings. But it worked. There might be an easier way.

Do you know it is possible to install your file on my iPhone? Because I just have 3.3.6 and it crashes from time to time.

Tweetbot has been the very best Twitter app since the day it was released. So glad it’s on sale to gain even more users.

People are pissed about the new twitter app? Why?

Best .99 I EVER spent on the app store, especially in regards to a Twitter app. I love it.

How does tweetbot handle notifications? They’re not showing up for me.

Hey, I like the new Twitter. Sorry everyone – it’s for normal people now. That’s the only way that it can grow. For power users and fans of Tweetie, you still have Tweetbot and Tweetdeck. What’s the problem?
