Attention Beagle Scouts: Get ready for summer camp with the Camp Snoopy series trailer Apple TV+ dropped Wednesday. The Peanuts gang heads off to the woods soon. Kids and parents alike might get a kick out of it.
The series debuts on Apple TV+ June 14.
Camp Snoopy trailer brings the Peanuts gang to summer camp
The new Camp Snoopy trailer will surely yank the nostagia chain for anyone who grew up watching Peanuts specials. They are, of course, based on the legendary comics by Charles M. Schulz.
The trailer shows Snoopy and a bunch of Woodstocks — Beagle Scouts — getting into all kinds of hijinks in the woods. Familiar human characters like Charlie Brown and Lucy, situated at a nearby camp, look on when their paths cross.
At one point Charlie Brown’s little sister, Sally, yells at a gaggle of the little yellow birds, “OK, we get it! You’re cute! Ease off!”
And then the Woodstocks just laugh at her. Perhaps a scene where she breaks out the birdshot got edited out of the trailer. Or maybe I’m a little too influenced by the darker fare on Apple TV+.
Here’s how the streamer describes the series:
After discovering their troop is in danger of disbanding, Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts set off to immerse themselves in nature and the Great Outdoors to earn their badges, with the Beagle Scout Manual as their guide. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown and friends enjoy their summer at Camp Spring Lake, crossing paths with Snoopy as they experience hiking, swimming, sitting around campfires and everything summer camp and the outdoors have to offer.
The series, produced for Apple TV+ by Peanuts and WildBrain, is directed by Rob Boutilier (The Snoopy Show, Snoopy in Space). Craig Schulz, Paige Braddock, Boutilier, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts and Logan McPherson serve as executive producers.
