The Kuxiu X40 Turbo is a great three-in-one charger that supports the fastest MagSafe and Qi charging speeds possible on the latest iPhones. That means you can get 25W wireless iPhone charging while simultaneously topping up your Apple Watch and AirPods.

The X40 Turbo is the follow-up to my previous personal favorite charger, the X40. In addition to extra power, the new model boasts a refined design while maintaining its predecessor’s stellar build quality. It comes with everything you need in the box: the charger, a cable, a power adapter and a nice linen travel case.

Here’s why it’s the perfect three-way charger for home or travel. Keep reading or watch our video review.

The Kuxiu M30 Magnetic Smart Connector Charger for iPad Pro/Air helps solve the irritating problem of limited iPad ports. It clings to the back of Apple tablets and charges them without taking up the computer’s sole USB-C port. It also reduces wear on the port.

I put the 35W charger through testing in my home office and came away quite satisfied.

And it’s on sale: 20% off!

Vision Pro headset, The CultCast episode 631
Did you get yours or did the bots beat you to it?

This week on Cult of Mac’s podcast: Vision Pro preorders didn’t exactly go smoothly last week. In our post-mortem, we discuss what went right, what went wrong, and why we can’t wait to finally get our hands on Apple’s headset.

Also on The CultCast:

  • Apple plans to radically change the App Store … for Europeans.
  • An update on new iPads and new Macs that seem poised to pop out of Tim Cook’s magic pipeline.
  • The Apple car is still on the road to release. However, it might arrive a little later (and a lot less amazing) than we were led to believe.

This solid metal boom arm mounts your microphone and more [Review] ★★★☆☆

Kuxiu X36 boom arm with a RØDE NT-USB+ microphone positioned in front of a Mac★★★☆☆
The Kuxiu X36 is a good boom arm for your audio-video equipment.

The Kuxiu X36 Boom Mic Arm is a solid metal piece of gear for mounting a microphone to your desk. It has a clean, logo-free design that blends in with any setup.

Unlike other boom arms, the Kuxiu X36 isn’t free-floating and adjustable with a single finger — it’s a firm stand that will hold its position. It’s split into three segments, not just two, so it’s nonetheless highly adjustable.

After some months of testing, I was surprised to find a much better use for it than mounting my microphone. Read on to see what it’s best for.

This 3-in-1 charger is a great travel companion and desk accessory [Review]

This Kuxiu charger is cleverly designed to charge three of your Apple devices simultaneously.

The Kuxiu X40 3-in-1 charger simplifies travel by juicing up your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods from one device, cable and outlet. It folds flat for sticking in your bag — it even comes with a little carrying case. Its handsome design and premium materials make it suitable as a permanent desk companion, too.

Without a handy travel charger like this, hitting the road with all your devices — iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and possibly a MacBook, iPad or Nintendo Switch — can become a big nightmare of device-specific cables. iPhones and AirPods charge with a Lightning cable, the Apple Watch has its own unique puck thing and most other devices are on USB-C, except for some MacBooks that have MagSafe, too.

The Kuxiu X40 replaces two to three of the special charging cables that we, people with Apple devices, are used to taking with us everywhere we go. You don’t need your Lightning cable and your Watch cable. All you need to put in your bag is the Kuxiu X40 and a beefy USB-C power cable to charge all your devices on a weekend away from home.

It’s regularly on sale for less, but even its original $79.99 price is competitive for what you get.

AirPods are ready for their upgrades … and so are we! [The CultCast]

Just when you thought AirPods couldn't get any better ...
Image: Cult of Mac

This week on Cult of Mac’s podcast: Apple’s roadmap for future AirPods looks ambitious. The company wants them to take your temperature to see if you’re feverish, test your ears to see if you’re hard of hearing, substitute for hearing aids, and charge using the one cable to rule them all … USB-C!

It’s all music to our ears.

Also on The CultCast:

  • An Apple monitor that works even when your Mac is turned off sounds perfect for some people and situations.
  • Shocker! Apple’s Vision Pro headset might be in incredibly short supply at launch.
  • Threads, the new “Twitter killer” from Meta, doesn’t seem like that much of a threat. However, it might play nice with Mastodon. (Griffin is optimistic!)
  • Suddenly, Apple TV+ seems like a streaming contender.
  • Erfon is pretty, pretty, pretty pleased with Apple’s stock price.

There's no way anybody's gonna wear Apple's AR/VR headset outside, is there?

WWDC23This week on Cult of Mac’s podcast: The invites for WWDC23 just went out, so maybe … just maybe … we have a date certain upon which we will cast our eyes upon Apple’s mixed-reality headset. The more we hear about it, the more intrigued we are. And at least part of that is who in the devil will buy one of these things if they cost $3,000?!?

Also on The CultCast:

  • New features arrive in iOS 16.4, including Voice Isolation for iPhone calls.
  • This AI crap is getting creepier by the minute — even Woz and Elon Musk are spooked!

A Kuxiu magnetic iPad stand with an iPhone charging wireless on its base.
High-quality construction and strong magnets ensure your iPad will stay stable on Kuxiu's X27 Pro, even with 360-degree vertical rotation.
Photo: Kuxiu

In this week’s giveaway, one lucky winner will get their hands on a magnetic iPad stand with a built-in wireless charger from Kuxiu. The X27 Pro was specifically designed for iPad users. With 88 magnets built into the back of the iPad, this stand mirrors that to ensure the most secure grip when your iPad is in place.

Thanks to the stand’s unique structure, you can use your iPad at nearly every angle, rotating vertically a full 360 degrees and 180 degrees horizontally. You can even set your iPad at a negative angle with confidence, which isn’t possible normally with this type of stand.
