One of iPhone 11’s hottest camera features is also making its way to older devices.
The ability to record from multiple cameras simultaneously will be available on iPhone XR, iPhone XS and XS Max, and the 2018 iPad Pro when iOS 13 rolls out to everyone later this week.

Does anyone really need 1TB of storage? Photo: Apple
Apple quietly changed the pricing on its most expensive models of the 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro yesterday while everyone else was drooling at the iPhone 11’s price tag.
Customers in the market for the 1TB storage option on either iPad Pro now get $200 off the original prices — but they remain far from cheap.
Apple is promising tons of innovation. Photo: Apple
A whole lot of innovation is in the offing for Apple’s biggest hardware event of the year. CEO Tim Cook recently promised that Apple will unleash its strongest product lineup ever, and next week’s “By Innovation Only” event could be just the tip of the iceberg.
Thanks to a glut of leaked info, we have a pretty solid idea about what new hardware to expect during the event. iPhones obviously will steal the spotlight, but Apple might unleash a few surprises as well.
This is what we think we’ll see during the 2019 iPhone keynote, which starts at 10 a.m. Pacific on September 10. Apple will live-stream it from the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
But don't worry — Apple still has plans for Touch ID. Photo: Apple
Apple doesn’t plan to completely kill Touch ID anytime soon, according to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s VP of product marketing.
In a recent interview discussing the progress of Face ID, Joswiak championed Touch ID on the iPhone 5s as the first mainstream biometric security system. Even though Face ID is being added to more devices, Joswiak hinted Touch ID will still be hanging around for a while.

Apple’s massive fall event is right around the corner. It should bring a slew of new devices, possibly including a refreshed iPad Pro. But no matter when the next-gen Apple pro tablet arrives, it’s shaping up to be a nice upgrade over the current model.
Faster chips and significantly improved camera performance are just a couple of the things we have to look forward to. Here’s everything we expect from the 2019 iPad Pro upgrade.

This year’s iPhone refresh will introduce new “shatter-resistance technology” and even better Face ID, according to a new report.
It is claimed users will be able to unlock Apple’s next-generation handsets from multiple angles — like when they’re lying flat on a table — thanks to a new Face ID sensor with a wider field of view.

The signature feature of the upcoming iPhone 11 could also be in Apple’s professional-grade tablets. The next iPad Pro will get the triple-lens camera supposedly launching in this fall’s iOS handsets, according to an unconfirmed report from Asia.
And regular iPad models might get a dual-lens camera.
Apple this week upgraded its official USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to support 4K HDR video at up to 60Hz.
The newest model, numbered A2119, boasts HDMI 2.0 connectivity. That means you can enjoy HDR10 and Dolby Vision content when outputting video from a compatible Mac or iPad Pro.
iPad lovers may not have to wait much longer for the next big update to Apple’s most affordable tablet.
According to a new report out of Asia, Apple’s new 10.2-inch iPad — the expected successor to the current 9.7-inch iPad — could launch as soon as the end of September.

LG’s UltraFine 5K monitor is back in the Apple Store, and it’s even better than before. Or at least it does more than before. The 27-inch, Retina-quality monitor now works with the iPad Pro as well as the Mac, so you could use it as a single screen for all your devices.

Samsung today lifted the lid on its brand new Galaxy Tab S6 — and it’s sure to make iPad Pro fans think twice about where they spend their hard-earned cash.
The new 10.5-inch slate delivers a gorgeous OLED display, quad speakers by AKG and Dolby Atmos, and full S Pen support. It’s also much better than the iPad at replacing your desktop PC.

The 2020 iPhone lineup could bring a huge display upgrade that will put it on par with iPad Pro in terms of refresh rate.
One leaker says Apple is “considering” 120Hz panels for next year’s handsets. It would be the first time its ProMotion technology has graced an OLED screen since its debut in 2017.

Weak iPhone sales over the last two years could cause Apple to bring OLED displays to the iPad or MacBooks a bit earlier than expect.
Apple owes Samsung Display hundreds of millions of dollars because it agreed to purchase a certain amount of OLED displays per year. With iPhone sales in a slump, Apple hasn’t bought as many OLEDs as it promised but the two sides are reportedly discussing alternative solutions other than sending a giant pile of cash to Samsung.
Kanex is the latest to deliver a USB-C hub for the 2018 iPad Pro. The iAdapt looks like one of the better options for adding must-have ports to your tablet, and it neatly clips onto the side of your device to keep everything tidy.

Spontaneous creativity is built into the centuries-old painting style known as fresco.
It is also the fitting name of Adobe’s developing drawing and painting program for iPad Pro and Apple Pencil artists who must quickly begin to create when inspiration strikes.
Adobe Fresco, a fraction of its power previewed by Adobe last year under the name Project Gemini, is on target for release this fall, according to a post on the Adobe blog.
You can finally swim with iPad Pro. If you really want to. Photo: Catalyst
Apple made the iPhone water-resistant years ago, but the iPad lineup is yet to get the same treatment. If you have a real urge to take yours swimming despite this, you need the new rugged case from Catalyst.
With an IP68 rating, the Catalyst case protects your iPad Pro in water more than six-feet deep. It also offers military-grade drop protection.
You’ll be able to record with front- and rear-facing cameras for the first time. Photo: Apple
iOS 13 and iPadOS will give recent iPhone and iPad users the ability to capture images and videos with their front- and rear-facing cameras simultaneously.
Apple says it is also possible to take advantage of multiple microphones to “shape” the sound that is captured. It encourages developers to leverage the new capabilities to bring picture-in-picture and spacial audio to their apps.

Grand Theft Auto 3 is 18 years old in October, and yet it remains one of the most iconic games in the series. Revisit it today on iOS and enjoy full support for the larger screens on iPhone XS and iPad Pro.
GTA 3 finally got the update treatment this week and now looks better than ever on Apple’s latest devices.
iPadOS is the new name of the tablet version of iOS. Photo: Apple
Apple just unveiled some of the most significant changes to the iPad line ever as it continues making these tablets ever better computers for professionals. The company even went so far as to free them from iOS — from now on, they run iPadOS.
Other dramatic changes include allowing applications to open multiple windows, a home screen redesign, improvements to the Files app, and more.

Apple won’t be bringing iOS 13 to the iPad — at least not with that name. Instead, its tablet will soon be powered by “iPadOS,” its very own version of Apple’s mobile operating system.
We’re about to get our first very look at it at WWDC.
