The retail chief who helped launch the Apple Store continues to tweak how we shop for our gadgets. Johnson’s Enjoy Technology Inc. brings online device delivery to your front door with a person to help you set it up.

If you haven’t heard of Enjoy Technology, that may change thanks to a new round of investment that will help Johnson’s company reach beyond its 50 markets in the U.S.

Two gang member suspects arrested after brazen Apple Store robbery

Two people have been arrested for a brazen robbery at a U.K. Apple Store, which left customers shaken.

The robbery took place in the morning of July 4. A gang of six people entered the Liverpool store and began pulling iPhones and other devices off the display tables. They pushed customers out of the way during the rampage, and made off with 36 iPhones and a MacBook.

An Apple Store in the Bay Area has been targeted in a snatch-and-grab robbery in which 16 iPhones were stolen.

Police in Walnut Creek, California say that three females entered the Broadway Plaza Apple Store on August 11. They grabbed multiple handsets and then ran out, fleeing in a silver Honda Civic driven by a male suspect.

Apple hints at 2 new Japanese Apple Stores opening this year

New images posted to Apple’s website reveal the opening of two new stores in Japan for later this year. The stylized logos are accompanied by text reading “planned for 2019.”

One of the logos uses the colors of Apple’s iconic rainbow logo. The other is a slightly retro-style logo showing the Apple logo as a series of lines with a sun-hued gradient.

Unique features make Miami Apple store look like no other

That’s exactly what’s set to happen with its new Miami-based Aventura Mall store. According to a new report, the South Florida store will boast Miami-style design elements, such as a Genius Grove with a canopy of 22-foot tall tropical trees.

The reconstructed Notre Dame cathedral could take some design cues from Apple stores if a proposal from design frim Eight Inc. wins the design competition.

Eight Inc, which designed some of the first iconic Apple stores, submitted a design that uses structural glass to reconstruct the roof and spire that were destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Mockups for the transparent roof look pretty incredible.

It took Apple nearly a year to convince Angela Ahrendts to ditch Burberry join Apple as the company’s head of retail.

Ahrendts discussed Apple’s recruiting process in a recent podcast interview and said a 2012 Fortune magazine feature put her on Apple’s radar because Tim Cook was on the cover. Cook apparently tried to get Ahrendts to join Apple shortly after but Ahrendts felt like the timing wasn’t right. Months passed and she had another meeting with Cook who said eight words that completely changed Ahrendts’ life.

Apple’s much-delayed dreams of opening an official Apple Store in India may finally be close to coming true.

In Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s maiden budget speech, the minister announced the relaxation of laws concerning single brand stores. These rules stated that 30% of goods sold in these stores had to be sourced locally. However, it seems they may no longer apply.

Thieves robbed the Apple Store in Valencia, California, at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

As customers shopped shortly before 11 a.m., three male suspects entered Apple Valencia Town Center and “began grabbing merchandise,” including iPhones and Apple Watches, police said. One of the suspects brandished a firearm before the gang fled.

Video of a MacBook Pro catching fire is getting a lot of views on Reddit and Twitter this morning showing a potentially deadly situation.

White Panda, a DJ from the U.S., posted video yesterday of his MacBook Pro a few minutes after the explosion happened. He claims it burst into flame while plugged into its charger.

Apple’s hard at work on building its first Mexico City flagship store

Construction is well underway on Apple’s first Mexico City flagship retail store.

The upcoming Apple Store will be a standalone structure located in the Antara Fashion Hall at an upscale mall in Mexico City. Apple first committed to opening a Latin American flagship Apple Store back in 2017.

Apple’s second store in Taiwan confirmed

A new image posted online shows that Apple is gearing up to open its second Apple Store in Taiwan. The photo shows that Apple has erected its customary white construction barriers around the new store, complete with Apple branding.

The new retail outlet is located at the bottom of the Xinyi A13 shopping mall in Taipei’s commercial hub District. From the look of things, the store has a roof design reminiscent of its Chicago flagship store.

Apple has given retail staff and Authorized Service Providers permission to give out newer units in some cases because Series 3 devices are in short supply. It’s not yet clear if this is a permanent or temporary move.
