There is no shortage of multiport USB-C chargers with 140W or higher output, but Ugreen’s latest Nexode Pro 160W stands out with its built-in customizable display, compact design (for the power it can deliver), and ability to charge up to four devices at once.
As if that’s not enough, the charger even packs Wi-Fi connectivity and supports firmware updates — features I never expected to talk about in a power adapter.
Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W: A smarter charging setup
Charging a MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad from one adapter is convenient, but it also means keeping track of how much power each device gets. That’s where a charger’s display can come in handy. The Nexode Pro 160W caught my attention because it pairs that visibility with a retractable cable — two additions that seem more useful day-to-day than Wi-Fi or firmware updates.

A built-in cable that can power your MacBook Pro
With a total power output of 160W, the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W can charge up to four devices at once. Its integrated USB-C cable can put out up to 140W of power.
That retractable cable is a boon, as it means you don’t necessarily need to carry a separate cable to charge your power-hungry devices. Plus, it’s powerful enough to fast-charge a compatible 16-inch MacBook Pro from empty to 50% in around 30 minutes.

The integrated cable extends to about 27.5 inches (70 centimeters). That’s a decent length, and I did not really have any issues with it.
I also appreciate the foldable prongs on the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W. Despite the use of GaN technology, this is a relatively large charger, especially with three ports and an integrated retractable cable. The folding prongs make it slightly more compact and easier to pack.
Considering the power output, built-in cable and screen, there’s no doubt that Ugreen managed to fit a lot of power and tech into this charger.
A display worth having, plus an optional app

In reality, built-in displays on chargers serve no practical purpose. Yet I still like them because they show live power output, along with the voltage and current. The display on the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W goes a step further.
The display isn’t a touchscreen. Instead, a small capacitive button below it, above the USB-C2 port, lets you cycle through the different screens, enable Wi-Fi and toggle Bluetooth.
You can customize the screen with an image of your choice. But to do that, you need to use the UgreenConnect mobile app. The charger supports Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi — yes, this is still a wall charger we are talking about.
From there, besides tweaking the display settings, you can customize power allocation across the ports and choose from different charging modes. Ugreen even says that the charger can receive over-the-air updates.
The UgreenConnect app also lets you toggle individual charging protocols on or off, including Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS), which Apple uses for fast charging the iPhone 18 Pro.
Is all this tech even necessary in a charger? Probably not. Do I like it? Yes.
How the 160W power output is split
As the name suggests, the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W can pump out 160 watts of power. However, individual ports have different limits, and connecting more devices means sharing that power among them.
The retractable cable and USB-C1 port each support up to 140W of power output, while USB-C2 tops out at 100W. The USB-A port is capable of supplying up to 22.5W of power.
Here’s a breakdown of how it all works:
| Outputs in use | Maximum power split |
|---|---|
| Any two USB-C outputs, including the cable | 100W + 60W |
| Retractable cable or USB-C1 + USB-A | 100W + 22.5W |
| USB-C2 + USB-A | 7.5W + 7.5W |
| Retractable cable + USB-C1 + USB-C2 | 65W + 65W + 30W |
| Retractable cable + USB-C1 + USB-A | 65W + 65W + 22.5W |
| Retractable cable or USB-C1 + USB-C2 + USB-A | 140W + 7.5W + 7.5W |
| All four outputs | Cable: 80W; USB-C1: 65W; USB-C2 and USB-A: 7.5W each |
When all four outputs are in use, the retractable cable can provide a maximum of 80W of power.
There’s one limitation worth highlighting: Using USB-C2 and USB-A together limits each port to just 7.5W. To avoid this, rely on the USB-C1 and the retractable cable to charge your power-hungry devices.
In my testing, the Nexode Pro was able to put out 140W of power from its main USB-C outputs. However, I did notice the power output dropping to around 120W after about 25 minutes of continuous use. This appears to be thermal throttling to help keep temperatures in check during sustained use.
While this does not affect my use case, it can be an issue if you plan to use the Nexode Pro to charge power-hungry devices for extended periods.
One small annoyance

My only complaint with the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W is the uneven weight distribution. Most of the heft feels concentrated toward the bottom, which causes the charger to sag slightly when plugged into a wall outlet. It’s particularly noticeable because the charger already extends quite a bit from the socket.
I’d prefer a more balanced design that sits securely against the wall, especially when I pull out the retractable cable.
This minor annoyance aside, I like what the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160W offers. The retractable cable and the display are both practical and convenient to have, while the folding prongs make it easy to pack and carry around. The app controls are a bonus, even though I find the idea of updating my charger’s firmware amusing
